"What would happen if I never came into your life, YN?" Samson stared at me with tender eyes. I opened my mouth to say something but I was rendered speechless by the question. "Would you be as happy as you are now? Especially with them?"

When we pulled up to the festival music was thumping and people were twirling around glowsticks and holding prizes close to them as they exited and entered. I stared at the festival for a moment, it was memorizing. People walked out laughing just as many walked in hopping on their feet from excitement to fulfill the need for adrenaline and to waste money on as many rigged games as they could. The golden lights were blinding for a moment against the night sky and it felt like the sun had come up early.

"YN," Ciel said. "Are you getting out?"

"Oh, yeah, my bad," I said, grabbing my bag.

As we got out and started toward the ticket booth, I was shuffling in through my bag for the money. Mumbling curses as we got closer and I still couldn't find my wallet to pay for the tickets. With no tickets, getting Samson was just another daydream for us.

Looking up at Sebastian, I gave him a concerned look, "When we left the house, I did have my wallet, right?"

"I believe so," He said, leaning down to take a peek in my purse. "Would you like me to go back to the car to check?"

"No, I'll go, just say here and hold our place in line," I turned to leave, but paused, grabbing Sebastian's shirt and pulling him down to whisper in his ear. "If I don't find my wallet, you can do your thing and seduce our way in, right?"

Sebastian stood straight with a grin and winked, and I took that as he could then left. On my way back to the car, I watched the people around me laughing about the magician that managed to pull a dove out of thin air, and I thought that there was more than that that he could do. As I passed by one couple, I managed to overhear them talk about Samson.

"Veronica, wasn't weird that magician just disappeared like that in the middle of the act? Like, he was there for one second then 'poof', cloud of smoke, gone?"

"No, he probably had to pee or something, Jason."

Thinning my lips in slight worry that Samson would be onto us, I sped up my walk to my car, eventually breaking out into a sprint. When I got there, I struggled to unlock the door, scrambling to get my keys out.

Sneering, I mumbled, "You just keep up with all you're stuff, don't you YN? You brilliant fucking fool."

"Are you looking for these, YN?" A voice said and I snapped my head up. Samson fiddled with the chain, looping it through his fingers and holding it up to what little light we had, and flipping his mask around in his other hand. "You seem nervous. You have to forgive me for last time. I knew they wouldn't want to harm you."

I furrowed my eyebrows and scoffed, "Yet, you gave me this-" I pointed to the scabbed cut on my neck. "You threatened to kill me, yeah, sure, let's paint each other's nails or you can piss off over to my friends and send them home. How about this, you tell me how you fucking did it- was it like some Back To the Future shit or did you pull all this from the deepest depths of your narcissistic asshole!"

People who were walking by started to look our way as my voice raised, and Samson stepped closer to me. "YN, calm down, I don't want to hurt you. I'm not here to hurt you-"

"Uh-huh, yeah, okay. Give me my keys," I said, holding out my hand.

"No," Samson said with a smile and swung the chain around his finger.

"Samson, give me my keys."

"No."

I reached for them, but he drew his arm back, a smile still on his face, then shoved them into his pocket. Samson, still smiling at me, reached back into his pocket and pulled out five, bright pink tickets.

"I like games, YN, so let's make this a game," He said, as he put the tickets, forcefully, into my hand. "The tickets are on the house, so you have free access to the festival in all its vomit-smelling, adrenaline junky, rigged glory."

"Are you fucking pulling a Saw?"

"What? It's a good movie," He then ignored anything else I had to say. "I'll be there, in the fair, doing what I do best-"

"Be a soul-sucking dick?"

"-Shut up. So, as I was saying, you find me by ten o' clock tonight, they go back to their own world- if you don't, well, heh, have fun explaining all this shit to your parents."

I sucked in a breath and clenched my fists, he had been getting on my last nerves, then counted backward from ten. "I could just call Sebastian or Claude over here and you'd be on the ground within seconds. What's to stop me from doing that?"

Samson cocked an eyebrow and a smug smirked. "Arthur is my trump card, dear cousin. You call those asses over here, he's lost forever."

I scoffed at his coldness, "You wouldn't do that, that's cruel, even for you. His mom is devastated right now."

"Even for me! That's hilarious, " Samson exclaimed and clapped his hands in amusement. "YN, I would willingly let his mother cry for the rest of her short, uneventful life."

We stared at each other for a moment, his gaze was unwavering and he looked at me with a determined stare. Samson was going to get what he wanted, and it didn't really matter how he got it.

Taking a step toward me, Samson caressed my cheek. "YN, what would happen if I never came into your life? Would be as happy as you are now? Especially with them?"

"You're psychotic," I managed to get out in a faint whisper.

"You say purple, I say a lively lavender." He turned me toward the growing line and pushed me forward. "May the odds be ever on your side-How does it go? Oh well, you know what I mean."

I sprinted back to the others and made it back to see Sebastian making the old lady waiting at the booth turn nearly bright red. I couldn't help but feel the second-hand embarrassment from the lady and cut in with a slap on the back of Sebastian's head.

"Sorry for taking so long, I have these, so we'll just go on in-" I grabbed Sebastian and Claude by the arms to drag them inside the fair. A few steps in, I turned to the group and gave them a rundown of what had happened.

"So, all in all," Ciel said. "Our original plan has just been used against us?"

"Pretty much."

Ciel sighed and pinched his nose, before giving me a hard look that spoke for itself. He was pissed that Samson had played us well, and he intended to get back at him- It was going to be a painful revenge for him.
