Letting out a long, tired sigh, I plopped down onto the nearest bench and waited for death to consume me completely. The five of us had split off in order to find Samson, to which, for me, amounted to nothing. It had been hours and I could already feel my feet starting to become sore so the feeling of giving up slowly started to arise. The only things I had managed to find were a few abandoned prizes, couples in unsavory positions, angry parents and disappointment. I kicked myself for thinking that finding Samson would be a lot easier.
Of course, he wouldn't have had made it easy. Samson was messed up, so there had to be some cat and mouse game to it.
"I suppose you still haven't found anything, either." By just as few words I snapped back to reality with a jump. Ciel stood above me with a disdain expression on his face, and I could tell he was angrier than before at the fact that Samson was just as sly as he imagined.
"Yeah, I have no clue where my bitch could be. So, anyway, where's your bitch?"
Ciel shrugged and sat down, pursing his lips in thought. "I believe the last time I saw him he was talking to some of the magician assistants. Not fully sure why, though."
Knowing the hint he was giving, I snorted at the thought of Sebastian really getting anywhere with the method he was using. Those ladies didn't know where Samson was, they probably only saw him a handful of times if at all, so either Sebastian had been played or he had some other angle to work.
"Well," I said as I stood up. "We might as well enjoy some of these stupid games. You ready to get conned?"
"As much as you are, I suppose," Ciel sighed and walked along beside me.
We wandered around quietly, walking to and from rigged games, wasting my money and Ciel's dignity. There was no sight of Samson, that much was given, but after a while, I began to wonder where Alois and Claude had run off too.
Just as we're walking up to the fifth booth with darts, a familiar voice called out. Stopping in my tracks, I looked around until Hana came into my vision frantically waving while dragging Alois behind her with Claude following. I could feel dread fill my chest and, for a moment, I thought about booking it in the opposite direction to avoid any confrontation.
"I thought you were here!" She said excitedly, totally conflicting with her attitude toward me before. "I mean, if he's here, so are you obviously."
"Yeah," I said.
She could seem to sense the light tension, and laughed awkwardly, "By the way, sorry about the other day. I was a real ass, and I broke up with Peter, too. Turns out that the rumors were true."
A pang of guilt hit me for a second, Hana seemed really upset by the way she strained a smile. Letting out a sigh, I dismissively waved a hand at the whole situation. "It's okay if it makes you feel any better Sebastian almost killed him."
"He what?"
"Anyway, you haven't seen biggest, blondest dick in the world, have you?"
Hana pointed to Alois right next to her who seemed ready to go off on her. Trying not to smile for Alois' sake, I corrected or on who I meant, then she thought for a moment before lighting up.
"I saw him over in the kissing booth."
Ciel pinched the bridge of his nose then threw the stuffed animal he won at me. His cheeks turned red and he clenched his jaw. It was the first time I had ever seen Ciel in such a state of anger.
"You're telling me he was in the most obvious place this whole time?" I could feel the sentence to the core. I had been looking for just as many hours as he had, thinking that Samson was trying to pull a veil over our eyes, only for it to right in front of our face. "Come on, I'm tired of all this."
