There is going to be a lot of time skips in this chapter because I want to get to the rest of the story.

— Another Time Skip — 2 Months —

Honerva's POV
After two months of intense therapy I was allowed to take Lance and we have been living in a quaint little house with a small garden out the back.

Lance doesn't speak much but he knows that when he is afraid or not feeling ok, I will be there for him and he can confide in me.

That however still doesn't stop the violent panic attack and nightmares. The ones like what is happening now.

I am holding little Lance in my arms tight so that he doesn't thrash around and accidentally hit something. It saddens me to see him in such a state, to see the terrors of his past haunt him today.

"Hush child, please~" My words stay soft, I don't think I could every use an angry tone with him.

He has been doing this for a few minutes and is starting to tire, good thing too because I don't know how much longer I can hold him still for.

I place my hand over his eyes and pull his head close to my heart. "Shhh~ Listen to my heartbeat~" I figured out a while ago, if I cover his eyes and create a safe dark environment he will fall asleep within seconds.

Not sure why but it always seems to work and it is a much better way then using sedatives to stop the episodes. It allows him to feel safe and gets him to start trusting me.

I love this child so much and want to see him have the support that I never had.

Third POV
"-he jumped off and I followed him and we fell in the sand." An 8 year old Lance laughed as he told his mum about his day at school whilst walking back home.

Honerva giggles at the child's enthusiasm and excitement, she loved to see her boy so happy about life and being able to do the things that other kids could do.

"So that's how you got that graze on your knee." She grabbed Lance's hand as they crossed the road at the lights. "Yup, Hunk has one as well."

Despite talking about an injury Lance remained smiling. He was happy almost every day and that was something that Honerva treasured, she was glad that he was loving life not fearing it.

They approached the small house and were about to enter the front gate when the hidden Altean stopped in her tracks. "How about we get ice-cream?"

"YES YES, Pleeeease!!" Lance jump up and down on the spot pleading with his mum to get ice-cream. She looked at him and started walking in the direction of the corner store.

Third POV
Honerva was in the bedroom packing a suitcase with everything that see thought Lance would need.

Lance, who was now 10 years old stood at the door to the bedroom looking at his mother with confusion. Had she planned a holiday without him knowing and he was supposed to be packed and ready to go?

She zipped the case up and walked into the living room. Zarkon had sent a highly enraged message stating that if she did not return, he would blow up the planet Earth and kill 5 billion other innocent species.

So Honerva had immediately made the decision to suffer for the lives of many. She sadly had to return to the dark rooms of the Empire and leave one of the only things that brought her life happiness. She had to leave Lance.

"Mum....where are we going??" Lance was hesitant to ask, afraid of what the answer might be.

He looked into her eyes with worry. "You are going to stay with Hunk and his family." He tilted his head unsure of why he was going to the Garret's.

"What about you..." Lance could already feel tears forming in his eyes, deep down he knew what she would say but he didn't want to hear it.

Guilt started to fill Honerva, she never wanted to be the reason that Lance cried but it was inevitable right now. She took a step towards him and wrapped her arms around him.

"I have to leave you..." She could feel her adopted son shake as the tears fell from his blue eyes. "I have to leave to protect you."

Honerva had the same salty sadness forming in her eyes but she wouldn't let it fall. There was a knock at the door and she went to open it.

There stood the Garret's, Hunk included, they all had solemn expressions. Honerva let them in as she gave Lance his suitcase.

The case in Lance's hands felt as heavy as his heart when he was lead out the door and into the Garret's car.

He was in too much shock to fight against the separation, the world around him closed in as he realised he was loosing the only security he had known.

Before the car door closed and any chance of escaping was lost he looked back at to house and saw his mum with tears streaming down her face. His ears caught the last words he would ever hear from her.

"I will always love you, Baby Blue~"
