"Okay we're done thank you" the recording guy says, finally letting me go. "Thanks" I reply quickly and then run to the bathroom to sort my hair out before I go and find the girls. As I approach, I can hear the girls talking and I stop for a second to listen to it. It's then that i realise that Perrie is asking where I am and she sounds really worried. Quickly Jesy steps in saying that I'll be done soon and Leigh adds that I'm a perfectionist. I adjust my messy bun again and head in and right over to Pez to hug her. Jesy and Leigh get up to leave and I notice they give Pez a look. Perrie looks down and I feel her start to shake gently. "Don't cry baby" i whisper, hugging her gently and tucking her loose hair behind her ears. Perrie doesn't answer and I pull her onto my lap and rock us gently. "Pezzie" I whisper softly so I don't scare her. "Yeah Jade" she replies snuggling into me and stopping crying. I gently play with her hair as she lies in my arms not doing anything other than sniffing occasionally. "What's the matter baby?" I whisper wiping her tears away and tracing her lips. Perrie looks at me and faintly I hear her whisper "not here". I glance around and see our bags and she slides off my lap so I can collect her stuff which has magically moves from her bag to every surface in the room. "Come on then baba" I say gently guiding her to the door. She stops dead and almost collapses and my reflexes kick in and i catch her and carefully support her. "Pezzie its okay baby" I reassure her. She relaxes and stands up slightly more and then suddenly all in a rush she starts to ramble "what about recording? And Jes and Leigh? How are we gonna explain this?" I put my finger to her lips and whisper "it's okay gorgeous I'll text them and say you're not feeling well. They'll understand I promise. And we've recorded all our bits today" She relaxes more than I've seen all morning and I feel her weight leave me as she stands up. A small smile faintly crosses her lips. I walk her to my car and make sure she's in and comfortable before texting Jesy to tell her we're going home because Perrie is sick. Within minutes she's replied saying she'll be around later to check on her. "What does she say" Pezzie mumbles and I can hear the anxiety in her voice. "Just that she'll be round later to check on you" i tell her to put her mind at rest. I see her relax and another smile crosses her face briefly. I start the car and drive us home, glancing at Pez at every stop we make. As soon as the car stops on our drive she jumps out and waits for me to unlock the door. I get out the car and lock it before picking Pez up and carrying her in. I lock the door and lay her on the sofa. After grabbing some blankets and tissues I sit myself on the sofa and pull Pez onto my lap. She looks up at me and I know she's noticed I'm not sleeping. I open my mouth to speak but Perrie cuts me off. "I know you've got a story to tell. I'm here to listen"
Authors note-
It's been a hella long time and I'm real sorry. I had to rewrite this so many times because the whole dynamic felt off and then it was in the wrong persons POV but I finally updated this! Y'all have been in at me for weeks and I, unknowingly, chose #mentalhealthday2018 to post it. To anyone suffering from a mental illness, take it from me, I promise it gets better. Maybe not today or tomorrow. Or this year. But one day it'll be okay. I promise.
Much love,
Jade xx
