Fighting Practice

"Sorry for not listening to you earlier. I just couldn't let one of us get captured." I apologized to Blake. "It's fine." He replied, brushing it off. "Are you sure?" "Sky, I said it was fine!" He snapped. I was startled by his sudden change. Maybe it was just the stress of the day. "Want to practice fighting?" I offered him. "Sure." We walked to the sandy fighting lot. He raced toward me, and I ducked, then kicked out with my back legs and whirled around so I was facing his back end. I sprang, and landed on his back. I wrapped my back legs around his and wrapped my front legs around his, then shifted my weight to the right. Blake toppled over, and when he tried to stand up, I let myself go and just barely held on. Now my weight was his to carry. He staggered forward, and I leaped back, landing squarely on all four paws. "I guess I win?" I cocked my head to one side. "No way!" Blake jumped at me, bowling me over. He threw me to the ground-hard- and I winced in pain. When I tried to stand, he shoved my paws out from under me. I tried backing up, but he caught one of my paws and kicked it roughly. I felt a snap. I tried leaping away, but my paws couldn't hold me. I fell to the ground. That was when I realized Blake had broken my paw. I mended it quickly, and glared at him. "This is a training session! We aren't supposed to hurt each other." I reminded him. Blake gasped. "Oh no- your paw! I'm so sorry, I don't know what happened!" Everest bounded over to us. He cleared his throat. "Sky, we've got a situation." He pointed to where Autumn was fighting Verizon. "You aren't getting to Sky!" Yowled Verizon. "She's my friend!" Autumn cried. "Liar!" Verizon snarled. I sighed, then bounded forward, landing on top of Verizon. "He's not lying." I said the same time Autumn barked, "Sky!" He looked the same as the last time I'd seen him. We ran toward each other and I nuzzled him. "It's great to see you, Autumn." I said wholeheartedly. I noticed that Blake looked on, jealousy in his eyes. I stepped back from Autumn. I explained the situation to him and he said that he'd train with us. "Alright, every wolf! Get to training!" I barked. "Autumn, you, me and Blake are doing a two v.s. three thing. I'll fight both of you first." Blake and Autumn got into position. "Go!" Blake yowled. The two of them raced forward. I leaped over them and spread my wings. They leaped at me from behind and I flapped my wings, pushing myself backward. They had leaped at me from opposite sides, so they crashed into each other. I grinned at them. "Good job, Sky." Blake congratulated me. "Thanks. Who's next?" Autumn went next. He tried to avoid me, by twisting and turning, and did, until Blake caught him. When he did, it was all over. I knocked Autumn down, and stood over him. Next it was Blake's turn. Autumn tried everything he could to attack him, but in the end, I beat Blake. I ran at him, wings spread behind me, and leaped at the last second. Blake expected it and dove under me. But I was ready for it. I propelled myself backward and landed directly in front of Blake, then pulled his paws out from under him. To cushion his fall, I put myself between him and the floor. "Ugh, you win, again." He said, then sat down beside me. I sat up, too.  I couldn't help blushing. Kya and the other wolves had stopped training and were staring at us. "What's up?" Blake asked me softly. "They're staring." I whispered. "Let them stare." He moved closer to me so our pelts were brushing.

We sat like that until Kya called for us to come eat

We sat like that until Kya called for us to come eat. I grinned at Blake and licked his chin, then raced him into the dining hall. We transformed into Jake and Sora and ate together. We finally had the whole group back together. If Sprint thought he could defeat us again, he was wrong.
