The problem with going to the festival together was a clear one. No one knew we were together. After he asked me to be his girlfriend, I told him I thought it would be a good idea to wait to become official to everyone else. We spent a lot of time together outside of school. But in school, we avoided each other, but constantly glanced each others way.

Not to mention the adorable notes he left me in my locker every Monday and Thursday. Just some cute messages, some times commenting on how cute my butt looked that day. But it always ended with "I like you more than Alexander Hamilton liked cheating on his wife".

Other than that, no one even had an idea that we were together. But there were rumors around school that Matt had someone, just due to the fact that he wasn't hooking up with everyone. But no one suspected he was hooked down, and they definitely didn't suspect me.

Which is why it was a pretty big deal that we were going to the festival together. It was like a fraction of how I'm sure a gay person feels going in public with their new babe. A very small fraction of the feeling, but a fraction nonetheless.

I stood in front of my mirror wearing a pair of cut off shorts and a black tank top, paired with a long plaid cardigan. I was the picture perfect fall model. If I was actually pretty enough to be a model.. and if I had pants on. Okay I probably just looked cute to myself, let's get real.

I leave my red hair down around my shoulders. I hear the car horn and go outside to where Matt is. I take a breath and spritz myself with vanilla perfume and head out.

I get to the front door and open it, revealing a beautiful Matt wearing a navy blue t-shirt and a pair of jeans that was hugging him beautifully. He hands me a single sun flowe and I grin. I thank him and we head out to my first actual date.

When we arrive, my breath is taken away at how beautiful everything is. The ferris wheel is front and center and due to it being dark, the lights of the rides illuminate the sky. The smell of food could be smelled as soon as you stepped out of the car. It was perfect.

Matt steps out and sighs. "Nothing like it", he tells me and takes my hand, leading me into the heap of people. He seems to know where he's going so I allow myself to be lead and take the oppurtunity to look around, basking in the sigh of it all. Couples snuggled close while walking. Children shrieking at the games. Friends in groups and in two's, laughing joyfully amongst each other.

But everything seems to halt and shift when my eyes land on none other... than Logan.
