"Where even am I?" You looked at the street names and numbers on the buildings, but none of them were ringing any bells. You've never been around these parts before and by the judge or the houses, it was an area for people that led the lives of commoners.

Commoners live so happily without wealth.

That's something you want to do.

You saw a nearby park and walked over to it, sitting down on one of the swings. It was hardly windy and the street light was forging your shadow on the ground. You bent over with your hands together and your elbows on your knees. Your eyes were closed, but they snapped open when you heard footsteps approaching you. You quickly stood up and turned around to come face to face with...

"Haruhi," you rose your eyebrows in surprise.

She had some bags in her hands. "(f/n)-senpai? I didn't think it was you."

You looked at your watch and saw it was past eleven at night. "What are you doing out here so late?"

"I was getting some groceries is all," she shrugged. "I thought you were someone who was drunk or something, the way you were bending over."

She crazy? "And if I was? What if I was actually a drunk person and attacked you? That's kind of dangerous." You looked around and shoved your hands in your pockets. "I figure you live around here?"

"I do," she nodded then shuffled the bags in her hands. You could see her hands steadily turning red, so you grabbed most of the bags from her hands. "Oh, you don't have t-"

"I insist. Where to?" You began walking, but slowly so she would get in front to show you. She eventually began walking in front of you and showing you the way to her house. It was a small, quiet walk and you'd just notice what she had on. Some sandals, a white shirt that seemed a bit oversized and some navy green cargo shorts. Her outfit wasn't much, but you didn't mind or care for that matter.

You got to her house and she opened the door. She took off her shoes at the door and it puzzled you a bit.

She turned around and looked at you. "Everything okay?"

"Oh, no! It's just... should I take off my shoes, too?"

"Please, if you will," she nodded then rests the bags on the counter in the kitchen. "Rich kids don't take their shoes off at home?"

"Guess not." You took your sneakers off and rest them next to her shoes. It was small place, but it was convenient and manageable. You rest the bags on the counter and stand there, unsure of what to do. The person's house you've been to other than your own in the captain of the basketball team because he's been your best friend for lord knows how long.

"You can sit here, if you'd want." She motioned towards the low table and you sat down across from her. She furthered asked, "So, what were you doing around here? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'll have to say that you live no where around here."

"No correcting to do there." You looked around. "My mom and I don't have the most... ideal relationship. Whenever she upsets me, I just go off on a walk to cool down. Moms can a pain... well, mine at least."

Haruhi suddenly cracked a tiny smile. "Moms are pains because they care about us so much. I don't clearly remember my mom being a pain, but I did and still do know that she loves my dad and I very much."

You tilted your head to the side and squinted your eyes with realization. "Wait, your mother... is..."

"Her ten year anniversary is coming up."

You bowed your head. "I'm sorry. I was venting about my mother while yours is no longer here."

"Don't bow your head." She laughed a little. "It's fine. Whenever you have a problem, you can just come to me if you'd like. Also, I'd like to personally think she's with me every step of the way."

You only questioned why she was deciding to help someone she was only acquainted with. You blinked a couple times and told her, "thank you." She got up and went to put the groceries she bought away. "I'd like to offer you the same thing."

"That's alright. I'm used to handling things on my own."

"But now you don't have to," you got up and walked over to her. Your face hovered over hers and her brown eyes only got bigger. "I'm right here, whenever you need me. A shoulder to cry on or just someone to talk to. Whenever you feel alone, let me know. Because I'll quickly take that loneliness away."

Silence lingered through the air and no one moved, but that changed when her head began tilting down. She was looking down and before you knew it she was reaching her arm up to the side of your shirt. She gently grabbed it then clenched it.
You brought your hand up and placed it on her soft hair, soothingly rubbing her scalp.

You two had formed a string of trust that wasn't spoken for.

and it didn't need to be.
