You were venturing through the jungle near the southern gate in the aqua garden, still looking for Hani-senpai and still getting no result.
All you heard were strange bird calls and other variations of animal noises. You found this weird and creepy, but there wasn't anything you could do about it. You also couldn't do anything about your wondering eyes to Haruhi's body. It was wrong, but you couldn't help it. She might've been skinny, but her body was still nice. You didn't mind that her chest was small, but you didn't expect for her rear area to be as plump as it was.
You immediately looked away and began to look around, trying your hardest not to look back at her.
Then you caught of a glimpse of something... or someone, seeing a figure with familiar hair and height. You subconsciously broke away from the group and began to follow said figure.
Haruhi noticed.
You walking turned into jogging through leaves, then running around corners and sprinting past different areas, but the figure was gone. You scratched your head confused then turned around to head back, but you didn't even know where to go.
"Uh oh," you muttered.
You heard someone panting and you looked over to see Haruhi running out of breath. "I couldn't... keep up," she tried to catch her breath. "You shouldn't separate from the group like that. And now I'm lost, too."
"Sorry, I thought..." You looked around.
She looked at you interested. "...thought what..?"
"Nothing," you brushed off.
I'm going crazy.
It suddenly started to slightly darken and before you knew it, it was pouring rain. You quickly looked around again and saw a small hut, so you grabbed Haruhi's hand and dragged her to it, figuring she couldn't run very fast since she couldn't even keep up with you earlier.
It was small, but big enough for both of you. There was a sitting back, so you sat down and she joined you.
You grabbed your long hair and wrung the water out of it as much as possible. Haruhi watched you and you caught her gaze, giving her a funny look.
She laughed a little and smiled a tad. "Who did you think you saw?"
You sighed and asked, "can I lay on your lap?"
It was almost like you caught her off guard, but she hesitantly nodded her head. You silently laid your head on her lap and all you could think about was how soft her legs were even with the water from the rain.
"The Himemiya's are close family friends to the (l/n)'s, so we'd do many things together such as trips and whatnot. The daughter of the Himemiya's is my childhood friend, so we were pretty close outside of the trips, but I haven't seen her in a couple years." You closed your eyes. "I just thought I saw her is all, but that's impossible since Himemiya's passed away in a plane accident about a year ago. My mind is stupid."
"Oh, I'm sorry," she said solemnly. "And your mind isn't stupid. There were times when I mistook other women for my mother. There was this one woman who had hair exactly like hers..."
You sat up and grabbed her in a hug. Your arms were wrapped around her lower back as your face rested on her shoulder. "About what happened yesterday... I'm sorry. It's just that when it comes to my mother-"
"It was wrong of me to assume that I knew anything of your situation," she admitted and rested her hand on your back. "I just wanted to understand it... I also wanted to understand you. You're always brushing things off and it only makes me worry, senpai, that you're going through something I can't even imagine. And I'm worried that I won't be able to help you."
You closed your eyes and held her tighter. "Your friendship is help enough, Haruhi. You're the first real friend I've ever had." You pulled away from her and sat back, the rain starting to clear up. "Others only attempt to befriend me because of my family's money and status. And the host club... they're more like monkeys."
Haruhi smiled up at you. "Well, that's too bad. I think you're too cool not to befriend, senpai."
"Oh?" You laughed warmly and patted her head. "I'm not cool, the farthest thing from."
"Hey! We've been looking for you two!"
You both look up ahead and saw a couple silhouettes of the host clubs, their faces eventually being recognizable. Tamaki was waving along with the found Hani-senpai who sat atop Mori's shoulders.
"Oh, Hani-senpai, are you okay?" Haruhi got up and walked over to him. He seemed to be very much fine which was good.
Today was a good day.
