"Oh, and by the way, those guys are dragging me to some kind of water park this weekend," she told you as she continued doing her homework. You lifted your head from the table after you had just placed it down from
homework exhaustion. "Kyoya said you were coming, too, right?"

"Huh," you began to think of Kyoya bring you and the team along just to give his family aqua garden exposure their families. "I guess so."

She dropped her pencil and looked at you. "Water parks aren't my thing. I'd prefer the beach."

"Then let's go to the beach the next time we have free time," you suggested.

"Just the two of us?"

You shrugged. "If you want."

She nodded while grinning from ear to ear. "Okay."

You felt my heart pounding out of your chest. You've never seen Haruhi smile like that. Were you the only one or did other people get the privilege to see that beautiful smile?

It warmed your heart.

You and Haruhi had became friends a little over a month ago when she found you at the park thinking you were a random person who was drunk. Since then, you'd been coming to her house after practice since you'd hardly get to see her during the day at school. You were in different grades and your practices lasted longer than her club hours. You also met her father one evening and he seemed skeptical about you at first, but you understood why. He was still nice to you.

His cute daughter was home alone with a girl who was into girls. It was the equivalent to Haruhi bringing home a boy who obviously liked her.

The both of you finished up your homework to avoid having any on the weekend.

"It's getting sorta late, (f/n)-senpai. Shouldn't you be heading home," Haruhi asked you curiously with her head cutely tilted to the side. "Isn't... your mother worried about you?"

You sighed inwardly and pretended not to let your solemnness show. You laughed a little and said, "my mother couldn't give a damn about me, really. If I was turn up dead, I'd probably be the best day of her life."

Her large eyes only got bigger with shock and surprise. Her gaze softened a bit as she began to think to herself a little about what you'd just said. "Sorry... I didn't mean to-"

"It's fine~" You brushed off.

Haruhi already told you about her mother and some of the things she's told you only made wish your own mother was like that. There was a point in time when the two of you were kind of close, but after you told her how you felt about girls she completely despised you. She didn't want anything to do with you. You were surprised she even still talks to you, but she talks to you less and less everyday so you were pretty sure she'll eventually stop talking to you all together.

She turned serious. "Senpai?"

"I'm gonna go. I'll see you tomorrow, alright?" You put your things together to leave then stood up to walk to the door, but she quickly grabbed you by the back of the shirt.

"Senpai, wait a moment!" She realized what she did and quickly let go while blushing lightly. "I... uh..."

You felt your heart beating faster.

Her blush subsided. "You shouldn't say things like that. Your relationship may be strained right now, but deep down your mother still loves you. I'm sure."

"I'll see you tomorrow, Haruhi," you told her. You didn't want to talk about to her... well, at least not yet.

You went through the door to get home, calling a car to pick you up from a certain point.

Sorry for giving you this dumb ass chapter 🤦‍♀️ If I don't like it then why would you guys, right?

I haven't posted in over a week—which is bad—because I had no inspiration. But then I was thinking, how will I get inspiration if I don't continue with the project?
