Miyoko: "Do you like Hearthstone?"

Caulifla: "or do you think Hearthstone is stupid and wish there was an online CCG more like MTG which means there's actually STRATEGY involved?"

Miyoko: "And do you wish there was a TCG that was actually affordable unlike Yu-Gi-Oh, MTG and Pokemon which has you wasting hundreds of dollars on card packs and starter decks each week?"

Miyoko and Caulifla: "If any of these apply to you, Then Shadowverse is YOUR game!!"

Miyoko: Shadowverse is basically a free to play online card game you can get on Steam and the app store. Not only that, but thanks to Google Play and user codes, not only can you have any username you want even if somebody else has it.. you can also link your account across multiple devices. It works a bit like Hearthstone.. except each type of deck has specialties.. and victory depends on you skillfully making a good deck with a niche like Yu-Gi-Oh and MTG, adding to the fun, and the competetiveness.. of course if you're low rank you'll be more likely to fight those on your skill level, so no worries about getting your butt kicked repetively. Plus.. your avatar is one of multiple Deck Leaders who do emojis to communicate with the other player.. so no chat, which means, no salty comment wars like League of Legends...

Caulifla: "Practically the only card game I can get behind."

Pros:

Miyoko's Take

It's a good game. I myself spend hours on it, building my decks.. playing through the story. YES there's a story.. and it's a GOOD story too, with well made characters that make you feel as if this entire game should be an anime!  The rewards for logging in as well as event login rewards (which are frequent) make it EASY to obtain more cards easy. Heck, you can obtain very strong decks just by playing this entire game by grinding stuff for free! The only things that truly cost money (because in game purchases are a thing) are certain deck leaders, and certain starter decks which have been out for a certain amount of time.. The chances of getting rare cards are actually quite high, and you'll probably get a legendary level card after your 4th card pack. It's not at all like Gacha games, you won't be crying for lack of luck in this game.  And to top it off.. some of the events are MAJORLY good. This game is made by the same company that JUST made Zombie Land Saga which came out last week at the same time as Mama and Papa's season 3 anime the.. A Certain Magical... something or other..

Index: "Certain magical ME!"

Yeah you... er.. why are you staying at our place again?

Index: "Touma said I could stay while the chapel was being fumigated for Forest Vulcan hordes!!"

Anyways, there was even a Fate Stay Night Heaven's Feel event where you could get Fate Characters as commanders! I play as Saber all the time for my Dragon Craft deck..  which kinda draws weird stares from Arturia whenever she drops by...  and you can get reskinned cards like a reskinned Temple Ogre made to look like Berserker.  But that event was limited, hopefully they rerun it if any of you are new players.. they'll probably do that when the next Heaven's Feel comes out. But in any case.. this game is VERY generous, it's highly Free To Play Friendly, and insanely fun.  But the Street Fighter event is ongoing, so you can still get Street Fighter characters as leaders. "

Caulifla's Take:

I honestly have no idea how to do all this strategy stuff.. but the voice actors for each of the cards.. yes.. they VA .... ALL OF THEM... and the characters, and the story, it's pretty cool. I think this game's pretty lit!

Cons:

Miyoko's Take:

Not many cons to speak of.. other than the fact that there ARE definitely stuff you have to pay for if you wanna get ahead some of the pro gamers.. Starter decks.. etc. Plus you have to learn the game.. learn to strategize. If you can't learn to play patiently like a chess player, and all you can do is throw out monsters and yell SYNCHRO SUMMON!! and CARD GAMES ON MOTORCYCLES like a psycho, then you probably won't find this game fun. The steady hand and mind wins the race in this game.. or it won't matter how good your deck is..

Caulifla's Take:

"WHY DO I KEEP LOSING!?

Miyoko: "And... there.. is a fair example.. Caulifla.. don't just throw out all your cards! Running out of cards in your hand early means you run out of options!!"

Overall take:

Caulifla: "It's a good game.. hand's down."

Miyoko: "yep.. a good time killer with a definite platform for some serious pvp!! A good game for the mind and the anime lovers out there!! This is Miyoko and Caulifla signing off and saying this game is worth it! Peace!!!"
