Everything ached, and the bright sun wasn't helping. In fact nothing was really helping besides the two nubs in my nose which breathed for me.
Joey was just looking at me like I was sad puppy alone in a back alley in a rain storm.
His hands touched my hair and stroked it. He didn't say a word and I couldn't help but notice his bright green eyes were puffy and red.
"W-" I tried speaking but just like he said, I couldn't speak.
"What?" Joey moved quickly.
"What is it, d-do you want water?"
I try shaking my head no but nothing happened.
Every time I saw his tearful eyes it just made me more and more upset.

My eyes began to water, and he looked over. "Sh baby don't cry, it's okay."
His eyes began to fill up to.
The doctor walked in and Joey whiped his tears.
"Jenna, glad to see you are awake!" I try smiling but nothing moves.
"Okay so after you into intoxicated yourself, you passed out and hit your head."
Joey looked at me, upset and now he was crying.
"But when we went to check your scans, we found a tumor in your brain."
I had brain cancer?
"We had to rush into emergency surgery and we gladly removed it!"

But I can't talk. Does he not understand that?
"Yes it's normal that you can't talk right now, it should be a day or two. You hit your head pretty hard." He chuckled.
"So when can she go home?" Joey asked.
"Today! She just needs a few check ups and after that she'll be go to go!"
Joey smiles at me and I feel numb.

The doctor left and now it was just Joey and I.
"What were you thinking?" He said with a little bit of anger.
I try to block him out and fall asleep.

----

I wake up again in a bed, without all the wires and machines.
The doctor gave me my wheelchair and helped me in.
"Okay I want you to take it easy, no exercise for the next month. Your body is weak and you need to gain back your strength slowly. Rest up, and don't stand or walk for a while, you'll get pretty dizzy." I nod at all the information he just threw at me.
"And here's your post op schdule. " he hands me the card.
It hurt to move, but the wheelchair was pretty comfy.

"Okay you're all set" he said as Joey wheeled me out to the car.
