7: Ruiz's Visit

The assistant delivered from Gaia, received a new name from Yoru and they communicated more than usual, which slowly influenced the assistant to talk more casually. They spent their week by discovering and planning the development of hygienic products.

>> A week later >>

I received a letter informing that the prince of the Beast kingdom was coming to visit our mansion. Shiki-nii and I were bombarded by questions from our parents, which kept us in their office for hours. While I was acting innocent, I tried not to collapse my act by Shiki's side-eye stare. 

How did that brat discover about me?!

Since the delivery of the letter, Ruiz came the next day without notifying us what time and I hurriedly wore the same disguise as the one I wore at Ruiz's encounter, just with a different western outfit. I'm glad Milly came to tell me rather than Ruiz waltzing into my room in my true appearance.

Milly guided me to the west-side of the mansion, which is designed to be more modern and western. I stopped in front of the door and heightened my senses. 

I can feel Ruiz's magic presence across this door. 

I took a quiet deep breath and filed all the possible scenarios in my mind. Fortunately, Shiki had school so at least it's easier to deceive the Beast prince.

I hope my plan works...

Opening the door, I gave a quick look and curtsied at the red hair tiger, arms crossed, sitting on the couch with an irritable expression, in his princely outfit. 

"I apologise for making you wait, your highness, I am Yoru Kagurazaka, we welcome you to our humble mansion." 

I lifted up from my curtsy and plastered my calm expression. He immediately stood up and approached me.

I was sitting in a luxurious room with various ornaments on high tables against the wall. tapping my finger with my arms crossed, I started to get impatient. 

I summoned the residence of the Kagurazaka and hoped the younger sister of Shiki Kagurazaka would make an appearance anytime soon. The door opened and I looked up at the entrance. Finally, what took them so long--

The same girl I saw back in town, in her boring brown hair disguise, but she wore a blue and white frilly dress. Doesn't she realise she's making my mood worse? I approached her, but she wasn't looking down in fear like last time. 

"Why are you lying?" 

Is she a spy of a different kingdom? Why did she need to hide?

Dang it, he completely saw my white hair appearance...

"I apologize if my disguise offended you, your highness. Please take a seat, I'll explain you the reason." 

Ruiz sat back at the same spot of the couch and I said in the single chair next to his. Milly opened the door further and let a maid in which brought in a tray of snacks and tea that I made: Lemon-mint tea and honey-salt cookies with small sandwiches on a separate plate.

I wonder if Milly is a mind-reader. I had hoped in my mind that the maids bring in drinks and snacks that can ease someone's restless emotion. 

After the maid poured our tea and left the snacks, she and Milly left. I felt Milly's presence just beyond the door, so if anything happens she's well prepared to come in.
