finn

This one is in first person.

If you aren't comfortable with the thought of suicide and other relating topics, you might not want to read this.

Based off the song Runaway, shown above.

Listen while you read this.

I was listening to the ocean, my legs crossed and the gentle breeze calming my overwhelmed mind. As the waves crashed against the damp sand I let out a small sigh. I turned to look at the pale white grains of sand that were bunched together like they would disappear if they separated. I dug my hand in the sand, balling my hand up to grab some of it. As I opened it back up the grains of sand fell freely through the cracks in my hand. I watched them fall elegantly back to the ground.

  Back to their home.

I climbed up the oak tree, the night air making my skin feel cold. I ignored it and continued to climb. Once I reached the top of the tree, I looked down and raised my chin to admire the view. I saw the stars looking back at me, waiting for me to get up there. I drowned out the sounds of my parents screaming at each other from inside. The night air pulled me in, making me completely mesmerized.

  Giving a feeling of home.

I put my bag down, shaking my head as I held my phone to my ear. I huffed.

"No, Finn, I'll figure something out." I rushed up to my room, grabbing my journal and turning back out the door. "Where am I going? I don't know — okay? Is that good enough for you?" I spat, turning the doorknob and slamming the door behind myself.

Skipping down the steps I grabbed the handle on my bike. I could barely hear my boyfriend yelling in my ear at this point, and I hopped on my bike. I rode down my driveway and took a right, riding down the road. Once I got to the beginning of the woods I have come to know like my own home — if I were to call it that — I dropped my bike. I grabbed my journal, and my phone. I hung up on Finn during this, who had been yelling and trying to get my attention.

I stepped off the road and brought my bike over to rest against a tree. After, I walked into the calming woods, going nowhere in particular.

I felt raindrops fall on my shoulders. I turned to him and took his hands in mine. He smiled right back at me and we danced in the rain. He held me close, so close I felt warm for the first time. He spun me around and we danced together in the rain.

I felt alive.

I thought of him as I felt the raindrops peacefully fall on the top of my jacket. I came to a tree, in which I slid down until I was sitting down against it. I lent my head back, and picked up a lonely fallen branch near the tips of my toes. I began to drag it along the dirt until it made an indention. I began to draw him in the soft dirt, and once it began to look like him I turned behind me. I went to show him, but he wasn't there.

I swallowed and threw down the stick and walked away from the tree. My walking turned into fast-walking, and my fast-walking turned into running.

I kept running until I heard the water.

I reached the cliff, where I stared down at the calming waves beneath. I took in a breath, and jumped when I heard a voice — his voice.

I jerked around, looking at his concerned eyes. "What are you doing, Y/N?" He asked.

I just looked at him, and when he tried to take a step towards me, I took a step back. He froze, his eyes still on mine. "Y/N.." He cooed, hesitating before taking another step forward.

I took another step back and he began to panic. "Y/N, come here, it'll be okay. Just come towards me." He pleaded, looking down at my feet to be sure I wasn't going anywhere.

"I can't take it anymore." His eyes flicked back up to meet my own as I spoke. Tears fell down my cheeks as I began to mute the surrounding sounds. I felt the wind blow my hair, and make the hot tears moving down my cheeks feel cold. I took another step back, and heard him scream as I slipped.

I thought that last breath would be the most relaxing thing. I figured that because of all the adrenaline and peace would just mute everything. I could barely hear, but I could clearly hear Finn scream my name. There was so much panic in his shaky voice I almost regretted it.

But there was nothing to regret, nothing happened.

He grabbed me just before I fell into the freezing cold water below. He stroked my hair, holding my face to his chest and sobbing uncontrollably.

"Don't ever do that again." He muttered.

"You're okay." He mumbled.

"I love you." He murmured.

And for once, I smiled.

I was where I belonged.

A/N

I'm really proud of this, and how it came out.

I've just been in a really shitty mood for the past month and I decided to take it all out in a chapter.

I found a song that this entire chapter is based on ( mentioned above ) and I cried to it. Normally I don't cry to things such as movies or songs, but it's truly a masterpiece. I can understand the lyrics and the emotions the piece has.

The way the music in the background molds with her voice makes the whole thing a work of art.

I really hope you enjoyed this chapter, as I loved writing it even if I did shed a few tears.

I love you guys more than anything and I don't even know you.

I hope you all had the best day you possibly could have and if you didn't make tomorrow better.

You deserve it.
