I walked into school with a smile on my face, music playing softly in my earbuds as i made my way to my locker.

I was getting more stares than usual, but it wasn't that big of a deal.

Maybe it was the new yellow shoes I had gotten over the weekend.

I grabbed my stuff for first period and made my way to the class.

I walked into science and set my things down on the tiny desk. I sat right down and waited for the room to fill up with other students.

Little did I know the stares wouldn't stop.

All throughout first period it seemed as if no one could look away from me.

It really couldn't have been the new shoes.

Beverly sat down next to me, her eyes wide.

"You did not." She spoke, and I furrowed my eyebrows.

"What? I didn't what?" Beverly looks up at the teacher.

"We're skipping second."

"Not we're not." Bev gave me a look and I shook my head. "No, there's a test."

"Okay, whatever." She rolled her eyes and tried to think of something. "Third?"

"I guess."

I found Bev waiting by the women's restroom at the beginning of third period.

She was clearly annoyed, and dragged me out of the school.

We walked a little bit in silence ( it wasn't really complete silence, for my shoes made a satisfying clicking sound every time I took a step ) until I realized where we were going.

Beverly and I walked past the quarry and right to our hiding spot.

She pulled me inside the horribly built hut, and brushed the dirt off of the pillows we had placed inside.

"Okay, you know how I hang out with the losers?"

"Yeah." I responded to her, looking her right in the eyes.

"So we were meeting at the arcade yesterday and Richie told me th-"

"Which one is Richie again? The one with the inhaler?"

"No that's Eddie Kaspbrak." I nodded. "Richie is the one with the glasses."

"Oh, dark curly hair?"

"Right. He was running his mouth as usual, and uh..."

"What?"

"Listen, I know you didn't because you barely know him but, did you sleep with him?" Bev looked at me with a little fear in her eyes.

"No..?"

Beverly sighed. "Thank god."

"Why do you ask?"

"He's been telling everyone that you and him, y'know.. did it." Beverly told me. I rolled my eyes.

"Are you serious.?"

"Very." She brushed her hair out of her eyes.

"I'm going to kill him."

"Don't, he's one of my best friends." Bev giggled. "But believe me I'm going to tell him what I think about this."

Me and Bev went home afterwards, since my parents were at work I didn't have to worry about them wondering why I was home.

Soon 5pm rolled around and I decided to see what the big deal was about Richie.

I skipped down my stairs and grabbed the phone book, flipping through the pages before I realized I had no idea what his last name was.

What even was his dad's name?

I stopped for a minute before realizing the answer to both questions.

I flipped to the T's and found his father's name.

I punched the number into our home phone and waited for someone to answer.

"Tozier's place, I'm Richie."

"Hey, Richard."

"Sorry, who is this?"

"It's [Y/N]."

"Oh, right." He sounded nervous over the phone.

"Can you meet me at the park?"

"Uh, yeah, sure."

"Okay! I'll see you in ten." I said sweetly, little did he know I was about to scream at him if he didn't have a good excuse.

I got there first, which wasn't that surprising. Beverly always told me stories about how he was late to everything the losers did.

He came though, thankfully.

"Hey." He greeted with a smile, walking up to me.

"Hi, Richard." I responded, and we walked around the park a little bit before I actually confronted him. "So I actually had a question."

"What is it?"

"Well, me and Beverly skipped a period to talk and um..she told me you had been telling everyone that we um.." Richie's eyes widened and swore in the quietest voice. "Did some..stuff?"

Richie bit his lip, looking down at his shoes.

"Listen, [Y/N].."

"Did you seriously go around telling people that?"

"I didn't, I mean yes, but I didn't mean—"

"It doesn't matter what you meant, why the fuck would you do that?" He looked like he was about to cry. "You better have a good explanation." I told him.

"This is going to sound so stupid.." He put a hand on his forehead and slowly dropped it. "I like you, a lot okay? So I just, for a while, pretended that we were together. I started, getting carried away it wasn't— it wasn't right, I realize that okay?"

I nodded in response, my eyebrows still furrowed. "I thought that if I pretended and told my friends that we did stuff, it would happen, but I guess I just fucked up my chances instead.."

"Richard, I think that's cute but don't do it again or you're fucked."

"Li—"

"Don't make a sex joke."

He chuckled at me. "So you're not mad?"

"Oh no, I'm furious, but I'm willing to forgive you under one condition."

"What is that?"

"You take me out for sundaes this Saturday."

"Deal." He said with a heartwarming smile.
