"When can we tell everyone we're dating?" David asked, filming Maddy.
"Are you filming me?" She laughed.
"Answer the question"
"I don't know, why?"
"We told our friends"
"I kind of like it just being a special thing" Maddy smiled.
"For how long?"
"Not forever, just for a little bit longer. How about we meet each other's families first?"
"Ok, fair enough" David said, turning the camera off.
"Why did you film that?" Maddy asked.
"I don't know" He shrugged. "Film as much as you can and rake through the hours of pointless footage later, am I right?"
David had texted in his group message "Like this if you're dating Maddy Laurent" then liked his own message before putting his phone down and ignoring all the responses. Maddy had posted a finsta post of her and David laying on Maddy's bed with a snapchat filter.

Sure enough, Maddy had returned to David's house after filming with Tana looking a bit less disheveled.
"We should do something" David said.
"Like what?"
"Have you eaten dinner?"
"No, have you?"
"No"
"What should we get?"
"Anything"
Maddy looked up at the ceiling.
"I know a Mexican place"
"What place?" David asked apprehensively. He was a little picky.
"Do you trust me?" Maddy asked dramatically, taking David's hand and looking him dead in the eyes.
"I do trust you"
"Good"
Maddy grabbed her keys and walked toward's David's front door, slipping her shoes on.
"Are you coming?" She asked, looking back at David who was still on the couch.
"We're going now?"
"Yes, we're being spontaneous"
David smiled, following Maddy out to her car.
"You're gonna have to open your door yourself, not sure if you remember how to do that" Maddy teased, making fun of David's Tesla's self-opening doors. They nearly always drove in David's car.
"This is fucking archaic" David joked. "Do you have crank windows too?"
"Yes, and you have to pedal to get it to move"
David cracked up laughing, climbing into the passenger seat.
"So I have something to ask you" Maddy said, looking at the backup camera as she backed out of David's driveway.
"And what would that be?" David asked.
"My sister's graduation is next weekend so i'm going back to New York, and my parents told me to invite you because they want to meet you"
"I would love to go"
"You don't think it's weird that they're inviting you to a graduation even though we've only been dating for like two weeks?"
"Well, you said you told your mom we were talking, right?"
"Yeah"
"Parents don't know the difference between talking and dating, so we've pretty much been dating for a month and a half. Plus, how many years have we been friends? I still haven't met your parents"
"Alright, fair"
"So yes, just give me the flight you want to take and i'll book tickets"
"Nah, my dad is booking the flights"
"Then let me know how much I owe him"
"No, they're inviting you out so they'll pay for your flight, seriously" Maddy put her hand on David's.
"That's really really nice of them"
Maddy shrugged. They drove for a few more minutes before arriving at chipotle.
"I cannot believe I didn't date you sooner"

This was super short and kind of just filler for the next one but all of a sudden people are actually reading this! I mapped out the rest of this story and I have 12 more chapters written, and no more ideas for the rest of this plot line. I've actually been working on the sequel to this so i'm trying to decide if after 12 i'll just start the sequel, or if I should try to extend this one before starting the second. This book is really like cute and mushy and doesn't have a ton of drama as is, so if I extend it I can add more drama, or I can start the second book which is lowkey too dramatic right now.
I'm also working on another story that's REALLY dramatic and a little dark, but i'm not sure if i'm gonna publish it/when I would do that. Let me know if you have any strong feelings about any of this!!!
