Frankie's POV

I slowly open my eyes and watch the sunlight make patterns on the lounge room floor. I must have fallen asleep on the couch again.

I try to stretch out my limbs when an arm grips me softly around the waist reminding me of last night.

What a night.

After Eli and I confessed our attraction for each other we kissed and caressed for almost an hour. It took everything I had inside of me to stop.

I know it sounds stupid but I don't want to rush what Eli and I have. It's still new and fragile and I'm worried that one false move will send us tumbling down. Not to mention I want all of our firsts to be as perfect as last night.

Eli completely understood me wanting to slow down and admitted himself that he always rushes and wants to do this right. He even suggested asking my father if it was ok to date me. Almost like we were in the dark ages and he needed to get his permission to speak with me.

I rolled my eyes at his suggestion but deep down, thought it was kind of sweet. I've never had anyone even think of such a simple thing let alone suggest it.

Slowly, I turn to face him as we lie in each other's arms on the somehow comfortable couch. He looks so serene with his dark hair lying messily around his eyes.

I push it out his face and then lay a gentle kiss on his nose only to see a slight smile appear on his lips.

Those lips sure know how to make a girl smile. I'm sure those lips will be the death of me.

I want nothing more than to stay curled up in this cocoon of new found love but I know I can't. I have something I need to do and it can't wait any longer.

I manage to slide off the couch without waking Eli any further and then head to my room to quickly dress for the day. No more than five minutes later, I step out and grab my keys and head for the door.

I blow Eli a quick kiss and then leave him a note on the kitchen bench.

I hope he won't be upset that I left while he was sleeping but if he were awake then I would just postpone the inevitable.

I head to the nearby street and grab the first taxi I see. It takes me the 10 minute drive to the richer part of town and stops right in front of where I need to go.

I pay the taxi driver and head inside the large foyer of the apartment building before heading straight to the elevators.

The time I spend riding up to the top floors is hell. I keep trying to find the right words to say but nothing feels right. Maybe when I see him it will just come naturally. Maybe.

I knock twice and ten seconds later the door opens.

Colton stands there surprised and wearing only a towel with beads of water still trickling down his chest.

I smile lightly and keep my eyes trained on his.

"Frankie? What are you doing in this neighborhood so early?" He says with a grin before inviting me inside.

I slide past him being sure not to touch him in any way, shape or form. This is going to be hard enough as it is without the added distraction of contact on top.

Just because there is no spark doesn't mean I am blind. Colton is 6 feet of gorgeousness and those green eyes of his would make any girl melt. He is going to make some girl so happy one day but that girl just isn't me.

"I actually need to talk to you. It's pretty important and couldn't wait." I manage to get out without choking.

"Of course. I was about to make myself some breakfast. Would you like some? I'm making pancakes."
