Eli's POV
Frankie and I enter the small garden area of a local park and head towards the large oak tree in the centre. The best thing about this park is that you can hire it out for private functions which is exactly what Marco and Beth have done. The large oak tree provides shade during the day and is the perfect setting for a warm summer night.
Frankie is walking directly next to me using my arm for balance as she struggles to navigate the soft grassy ground in her stiletto heels.
"I told you to wear different shoes." I whisper mainly to myself and receive a mocking glare.
"But these ones make my legs look really good." She whines and I can't help but laugh. She has a point there.
Frankie is definitely not on the tall side and wearing heels is a common occurrence for her. But these black steampunk looking shoes with metal heels do make her legs look amazing. They just aren't practical to wear on grass since the heel would be lucky to be more than 5mm wide.
We arrive at the sight just in time to see a nervous Marco standing at the base of the large oak. His face fills with a worried smile when he sees us so I decide to take my chance and sneak in a quick chat with my best buddy. There is only a small group bbn of people here which means it shouldn't matter too much if I steal the groom's attention for a minute or two.
Frankie is quick to bump into some of her family and begin talking so I sneak over to Marco and give him a large hug.
"Thank you so much for coming Eli. It means a lot to me."
"Are you kidding? I wouldn't miss this if you paid me. You're my best friend and I intend to be here watching you marry the girl of your dreams."
His worried look seems to falter and his carefree smile breaks through.
"I see you didn't come alone. Or are you two just alone together?" He asks when he spots Frankie in the small crowd.
I follow his eyes and find her face just as she looks up to see me. Our eyes meet and the most genuine of smiles fills her face. My own grin must be ten miles wide.
"I'll take that look as together." Marco mutters and I nod.
"Yeah. Definitely together."
"So, I guess I was right. She is your 10."
I look over to Frankie again as she stands picturesque in her skin tight charcoal dress. Her raven hair has been loosely curled and left to hang down her back stopping just shy of her ass and her make-up has been kept simple. A little mascara and a bold dark lip colour to offset the lightness of her eyes.
I can't help but beam as I look at her. She is perfect and best if all, she is mine.
"Yeah. She is definitely my 10."
"And you didn't want to make a list." Marco says as he smacks my arm jokingly.
"Ok, ok, I admit it. You were right about the whole list thing. But I'm pretty sure I could have figured it out that she was the one eventually."
"I have a small confession, Eli."
I stare at my best friend as he rubs the back of his neck nervously.
"Remember when Frankie first went to live with you and I said that Beth and I didn't really have room? Well, I lied. I wanted Frankie to move in with you so that you two could learn more about each other. I knew that if I pushed too hard that you would freak out but if you saw on your own just how much you too work then it would be fine."
I shake my head and laugh lowly.
"You did this?"
He nods unsure of my response.
