It was after eight when Bill finally got home. He had a long day of work and shopping. He walked into the front door, smiling when seeing his little brother Georgie. Georgie jumped at him with such excitement every time Bill returned home. Bill enjoyed the feeling of close connection with his little brother.
He quickly walked to the kitchen, made himself some dinner and then made Georgie's. Georgie's was easy. Chicken. Bill set the tray down carefully on the desk beside him, slid it over to him, then watched as Georgie devoured it hungrily. He grunted between bites.
"Geez, Georgie" Bill chuckled but he was no longer surprised. This is just how Georgie ate. Bill ate in the dining room by himself. After dinner, he took care of the cheap groceries that he found and cleaned up the kitchen.
He sat in the living room with Georgie after. They watched a few movies together. Sometimes it was hard to hear the movie over Georgie being the loud child that he is. But Bill learned to block out his noisiness.
After their movie, Bill guided Georgie to his room, read him a bedtime story, then walked off to his own room and after a short while, fell asleep.
The next day, Bill brought Georgie outside to soak up in the sun. Bill figured the sun would do him some good since really, he doesn't see the outside world much. They sat out front of their small house together.
Bill figured they should have some drinks. Bill went inside, quickly got himself a water and his little brother some juice, then walked back out to the front yard. He froze at the front door, hearing the gunshot.
He dropped the drinks and ran out to the front yard. His eyes widened and he stared at Georgie's lifeless body on the hard ground. A hole, the same size as a bullet, formed on the back of his head. Tears ran down Bill's cheeks as he dropped to his knees beside his little brother's dead body.
"You're welcome for that!" an old man's voice came from down by the street. Bill snapped his head up and reached for the pistol in his own pocket. He aimed it at the old man.
"Why the fuck w-w-would you shoot my l-little brother!?" Bill yelled out, clicking the gun to get it ready. The man quickly raised his hands, his eyes doubled in size and filled with fear.
"You're pissed at me for shooting a damn zombie?" The man asked.
