Beverly curled up on her tattered bed and pulled the pink blankets up over her chilly body. She looked around at her all too familiar room and gave a soft sigh. She had read every book on her bookshelf, played every game that she owned for her Gameboy, and listened to every record at least a dozen times. It was all getting too boring.
She had no friends to hang out with. She had no plans to do. Her chores, which were always laundry and cleaning her bathroom and bedroom, was already done. What else was she to do on this boring afternoon?
She looked up when she noticed her father coming through the door. She looked at the meal that he had brought her and offered a smile.

She noticed the bright colors just outside the front door. So, she ran out. A big smile covered her face until she heard her father yelling from behind her. She quickly turned around and gave a pout when he forced her back inside by the arm.
"How the hell did you get out?" He snapped.
"I'm sorry, Dad" she teared up. He rolled his eyes, forced her back down to the basement, and slammed the door shut. Beverly listened to the locks being done from the other side of the door. If only she would have seen those posters that were upstairs that said MISSING with her picture on them. Maybe she would have run for her life and actually had more fun things to do...
