Eddie, dressed as a demented doctor, waved at his friends who were heading home. He smiled wide at them and watched as they walked down the street past the other trick or treaters that were heading home. It was almost 9 p.m.

Eddie turned back to his house and a frown instantly replaced the smile. He walked up to the front door and slowly opened it. Sonia, his mother, stood just inside with her hands on her hips. A stern look covered her round face.

"That's a full bag" she commented, noting the sack of candy Eddie had carried in. Eddie nodded slowly and watched as she held out her hand. "Hand it over, Eddiebear"

"Can't I just keep a couple chocolate bars? Please?" Eddie begged. Sonia's glare told him his answer. He teared up and gave the sack of candy over then ran up to his room to get cleaned up for bed. After his shower, he called down to his mom to say goodnight, then got in bed. He went to sleep.

He woke up a few hours later in need of a drink. So, he slowly crept downstairs toward the kitchen. He stopped when he heard the television still playing in the living room. He slowly walked to the end of the hall and peeked in.

His mother sat on the couch, shoving unwrapped pieces of candy into her mouth, grinning at the television. Eddie could hear the smack of her lips from where he stood across the room. First, he stared in shock. His shock soon turned to anger and envy.

Eddie slowly walked into the room and glared at his mother. She jumped when she noticed her son in the room and then rolled her eyes.

"Go back to bed, Eddiebear" she demanded. He just continued to glare at her. She sighed heavily. "What did mommy just tell you? Get back upstairs right now" Eddie slowly walked over to her, grabbed the sack that once was filled with candy, and wrapped each end around his fists. "What the hell are you doing, mister?"

Sonia started to get off the couch but Eddie was much quicker than her. He jumped on the couch and wrapped the sack around her throat. He held it over her throat tightly until her body fell limp. He then tossed the sack to the floor, sat on the other end of the couch, and ate as much candy as his little body could allow.

A few years later, Richie knelt by the child he had been babysitting's bed. He grinned and rested his hand on his head. He watched as the child continued to eat his candy. He rolled his eyes and chuckled.

"You know, kiddo," he had a smirk crossed over his face. "I had a friend when I was little"

"Wow you had friends?" the kid rolled his eyes and shoved another chocolate kiss in his mouth.

"Yep. Asshole" Richie rolled his eyes but then smirked again. "His name is Eddie. We were best friends, him and me"

"What happened to him?" The kid asked, tilting his head. Richie told the story of how Eddie lost his mind and murdered his mother. The kid's eyes grew throughout the story, looking more and more terrified like a lost puppy.

"Yeah, legends have it that after he escaped the police, he's been lurking in this town ever since" Richie shrugged casually. "He murders all of the kids that don't share their candy with him" The kid shook with terror as he looked down at his candy. He shoved it away. Richie laughed and grabbed the bag. The kid watched as Richie left the room with it.

"Sweet dreams, nerd" Richie called back as he walked down to the living room. He started to devour the kid's candy. Of course, he'd stop by the store and replace it all. But he was really struggling with his sweet tooth cravings.

The little boy grabbed a chocolate bar that had fallen on his bed and tiptoed over to his door. He set it down and rushed back to his bed.

Richie ate the rest of the candy, instantly feeling sick after the last bite.

"Damn... I'm so full" he mumbled to the air. "So damn worth it though" he grunted. He heard footsteps behind him and rolled his eyes. "Shit, aren't you supposed to be asleep?" Richie prepared for the lecture but nothing was said. Richie sighed and sat up to look back over the couch but didn't find the kid.

Richie's eyebrows lowered as he slowly turned back to the television. There, in front of him, was his old pal, Eddie. Eddie glared at him. Richie's eyes widened.

"E-Eds?" he choked out. Eddie jumped on top of Richie. He grabbed the bag that was used to hold the candy and wrapped it around Richie's throat until his body went lifeless.

The little boy heard footsteps walk up the stairs. He watched as the door slowly opened. He quickly hid under his blanket but peeked out. He watched as a pale hand reached in, grabbed the chocolate, and then the door closed.
