"Daddy? I think there's a monster in my room!" a little four-year-old girl stood in the doorway of her fathers' room. She was rubbing her eyes tiredly and tears were starting to form in them.

Eddie turned over onto his opposite side quickly and looked at his daughter. He smiled wide and sat up quickly, stretching out his sleepy limbs with a gentle groan.

"How many times do we have to tell you? There are no monsters" Eddie talked sweetly. He got out of bed and walked across his bedroom floor to his daughter. She sniffled and looked up at him.

"I tellin' you, daddy. I saws it with my own eyes!" she held her hands up for him to pick her up. He couldn't help but smile at her little voice. He rolled his eyes, picked her up, and carried her back toward her room. He noticed her grip on his shirt tighten as they got closer to her room.

"Alright, you monsters" Eddie called out before entering the room. "If you're in my daughter's room then you need to get out of there right now!" his daughter started to giggle gently.

"He gon' kick your booty!" she added. Eddie laughed, set her down on the floor, and walked into the bedroom. He took a look around. He knew there was nothing but this charade was played for the sake of his daughter's happiness. She watched cautiously from the doorway.

"Hmm, I think the monster ran away. You know how they're scared of your father and me" Eddie told his little girl. He looked over his shoulder when he didn't hear her respond. She wasn't there. He raised an eyebrow and walked out into the hall. "Cutiepie?" He called out. There was no response.

Eddie looked around confused then walked downstairs. He checked the living room and then the kitchen. "Princess? Come on it's time for bed" Eddie walked around the whole house and couldn't find her. He sighed heavily.

"Come on Princess, please" he begged. He looked around the room then shook his head with defeat. "Dammit," he mumbled. He walked back up to his room and let himself fall on the bed. He felt Richie's body shift from beside him.

"See her again?" Richie asked with a soft yawn. Eddie nodded. Richie sighed and sat up then turned the lights on. "Babe, she'll visit again," he told him.

"Just wish she'd stay around longer," Eddie told him sadly as he looked over at the picture of her on the wall with a little poem about grief too soon besides it. It was dated four years back. "God, I miss her"
