TRIS POV

"Come on hurry up Tris we're gonna be late!" Tiffany screamed. Tiffany and her friends always make me do things I don't want to do. For example, Ms. White, who runs the orphanage, sends us all to the same sucky public school, even thought there are at lease 3 buses that have a stop close to the orphanage. Ms. White claims that it easier and gives us more time with our "beloved family members", so no one gets choice on their school. Don't get me wrong, Ms. White isn't a bad  person or mean or anything like that, she's super kind but she is also very unaware of what's going on around her.

"I'm coming."  I tell her. Today is Saturday, and Tiffany and her best friend (well, best friend from the orphanage at least), Beth are doing what they always do, go out to the town and try and ask out cute boys and always get rejected. And of course I have to go with them most of the time because they ask me when we're around Ms. White, and when I'm by here I can't say no unless it's a valid reason. They know I hate it, but I always have to go with them but stay wayyy behind them because I'm "an embarrassment" to them. So I always do, because I don't want to risk things getting worse then they are.

I cautiously stepped into the bus a minute or two after Tiffany and Beth get on. The bus was packed and of course Tiffany already was flirting with a guy. The only open seat I see is the one next to Beth, so I sit in it. Only thing that could be worse is sitting next to Tiffany. "Get away from me you little rat!" Beth yells at me. I just look at my shoes. "You have to say something, or else things will be worse." No, it can't be worse. No no no no no.

"There weren't any other seats open. They are all filled. Sorry."

"Sit on the floor then. That's where you belong. You don't deserve a seat." she shoves me hard in the ribs and I fall to the ground. The bus starts to move. I lay there for a minute before scrambling to my feet and holding on to the long metal bar above my head. I hear Beth snort in the background as Tiffany walks over next to Beth.

"Ma'm, please sit down when the bus is moving." the bus driver tells Tiffany.

"Oops I'm so sorry! I didn't know, I won't do it again!" pleads Tiffany in her innocent child voice.

"Thank you." replies the bus driver.

"So?" asks Beth.

"He's a dud. Kinda cute, but he's supper unpopular and his favorite thing to do is read. He also normally wears glasses but wore contacts today." Tiffany replies. Typical Tiffany, judging people because they don't like exactly what she likes. I like reading and drawing, and Tiffany and Beth always try to take my books and art supplies.

"Ugh, when will we find the perfect guy?!?!?" Beth complains.

"Soon I hope." Tiffany says with sorrow on her face. "Looks like we're at a good stoping point." She says as she points out the window.

"Yay! Finally!"
***
Another Saturday another "dud" for Tiffany and Beth. They flirted with a few guys but they were all a waste of time. We're hopping on the bus when Tiffany asks me to pay for the bus.

"We always give you the privilege of coming with us, so now it's your turn to pay!" Tiffany chirps.

"I don't think I have enough money." I tell them.

"That's a real shame. Not good for you," putting her sassy tone on you. This isn't good.

"Please sit down, we are about ready to start moving." says the chubby, sleepy bus driver.

"Sorry!" Beth politely says to him.

"Thank you." the bus begins to move and it's smooth sailing for the first few minutes. But that's when I feel it, the bus starting to tip near the lake.
