Part 34: The End Game

Yikes it's been a while. Update I'm 18 I graduated, things are wild. I don't know if I'll be able to keep up but I thought it'd be cool to look back and I see that many people are a little, uh, upset. I understand so I'll try to finish. Enjoy.

Narrator P.O.V

After a milestone victory, Rias and everyone gathered around to finish their meeting and prepare for the final battle on the horizon. Everyone was ready to get the fight over with and go home, however, the wall standing tall had been blocking that path. (F/n). The haunted vessel of a once friend had now been preventing their freedom. But now at a higher risk of failure, Ophis had subjected her puppet to vigorous amounts of training and unforgiving torture as he couldn't best our heroes at the last battle.

Ophis: Perhaps you'll learn to make better use of this gift!

She blasted energy at his gut while he was restrained around the wrists and legs. Something straight out of an Akeno fantasy.

(F/n): Gyaaaaaaahh! My sincerest apologies Lord Ophis but-

Ophis: There's no way around it, you had them!

She threw one last until she let him go to train more. After the torture, the possessed body had more incentive to get more training in. His emotions raged as he couldn't handle it anymore.

(F/n): Damn her.... I'll show her.... Heh heh I'll kill her...

Ophis: What was that now?

(F/n): Huh?! Ah! O-O-Ophis?!

Ophis: Do I need to properly teach you this lesson?!

(F/n): Grrrrr... You know what?! Screw this it's not worth it anymore!

Ophis: What are you-

The spirit controlling (F/n)'s body left and disappeared. Shortly after, the original (F/n) came back to consciousness and looked at Ophis.

(F/n): So....

Ophis: This is quite the predicament isn't it?

(F/n): Perhaps...

He immediately launched an energy blast at the floor and caused a smokescreen of sorts.

(F/n) P.O.V

You blast through the wall and high tailed it out of the facility and ran as fast as you could. You could tell Ophis wasn't running after you until you rammed right into her somehow back at the facility.

Ophis: No use in running I ca-

You immediately roundhouse kicked her in the face and sent her flying. You booked it for the entrance again but this time forming a portal of sorts.

(F/n): Thank God I still have this- Ow! Shit I forgot about that...

You jumped through the portal and managed to make it into your pocket dimension. A sigh of relief- scratch that- a heave of relief fell out of your mouth as you had managed to escape. You decided to wait for your powers to fully recover to your body in the pocket dimension as leaving early would result in not being able to transport to different areas quite yet. After about an hour you tried to imagine the occult research club and everyone else. You opened up the portal and was met with the research club. However the place was empty. Or so you thought. You heard noises coming from the upstairs and decided to hide your energy and wait it out behind the couch. Soon enough you got up and went to investigate it since no one was coming down. You went to the hall and saw a room was lit up. You headed to the door but the instant you reached the door frame, Akeno had come out of the room and bumped into you. You both fell over and looked at each other for a second. You couldn't manage any words since you haven't actually seen Akeno for a while now. Akeno decided to take action immediately and started to attack you. You managed to roll away from her first blast but wasn't able to evade the second as it launched you down the hall.
