One Long Night

Austin.

Okay, I'm home with a baby. What does she even eat. Thank god I have Beth and Dez here with me, I walk into the sitting room where the two of them are sitting together on the couch talking and laughing.

" Hey beth, I think she is hungry. Should I make her pasta or something?"

"Aw Austin, your so clueless, babies don't eat food. They just drink milk." She giggled and walked into the kitchen, nodding her head so I'd come with her. She opened the cupboard and made a bottle and handed it to me.

"Now come on, I'll show you how to feed her."

"Look babygirl, your aunty Beth is going to show your silly daddy how to look after you."

I fed her the bottle and got Dez to send a picture to Ally's phone. I winked at Dez, I can tell that he is totally in love with this girl but the part is, I can tell Beth feels the same way. When I put the baby to bed, the three of us watched a movie. I noticed Dez's arm around Beth but I pretended not to notice it. I showed Beth into the guest bedroom and left her to sleep, Dez wasn't ready to sleep yet, as was I. I ended up getting us a beer and sat down at the table.

"So Buddy, you scared."

"Dez, 9 months ago I was Austin Moon, the rockstar, I was dating my beautiful songwriter Ally Dawson. Suddenly I have to consider looking after a baby, then un accepting parents, a girlfriend who was on the breach of an fatal eating disorder, missing the birth of my daughter, finding my girlfriend is unconscious, not sure if she'll ever wake up, and not to mention. I'm a dad now, but Dez.. I couldn't be happier. "

"Austin, thats amazing."

"The one thing I regret is, I completely lost track with you throughout it. I know I saw you plently but I haven't really spoken to you properly. I never even got to ask you why you and Trish broke up?"

" Well she went crazy after Ally told her she was pregnant. She got mad that id wasn't her and me. It just freaked me out that she was thinking that way, I wasn't ready like you were."

"Ready? You think I was ready.. Dez, do you realise how much I had to get through to even consider being ready. I just wanted to die."

"Really, you never showed that."

"How could I? Ally was a mess, I had to be strong for her."

"I'm glad your my best friend Austin."

"Thank god I have you Dez." I gave him a fist punch and looked at him again. "So Beth eh?"

"Austin, she's beautiful, she's amazing and Austin.. I think she likes me back."

"I know I saw you watching the movie together. " Dez looked at me with a cheeky grin on his face.

" I love her Austin. I love her just as much as you love Ally."

" Well thats alot of love then." I smirked at him.

"Hey Austin, I think I'm gonna go to bed."

"Okay, where you going to sleep."

"I'll just sleep on the couch."

"If you want.... Oh Dez, I forgot to ask.. Will you be her godfather?"

"Really! Of course I will! Does that mean I can be the guy who buys her all the stuff her parents won't give her."

"Pretty much, no drink though." I winked.

"Night buddy, thank you."

"Night."

I walked up the stairs weary, I wasn't used to 3 in the morning. That is until I heard cries from the cot. I sighed, well I better get used to them. I picked her up, man we really have to name her.

I carried her down the stairs and into the kitchen where I made her a bottle. As I was turning the lights out, Beth came out of the bathroom.

"Oh crap, Beth I hope I didn't wake you. "

"No you didn't, don't worry. I was awake anyway."

"Okay, well night." I returned up the stairs and began feeding her. This is going to be one long night.

Beth's POV

"No don't worry, I was awake anyway."

I only heard everything you guys said. I thought as I fell asleep with a smile on my face.
