~ 6 months after the picnic ~

Austin Moon's point of view.

She's skinny, she's frail, she's dependant and she needs me a lot.

I walked in from a writing session in the studio. The house seemed emptier now, Dez and Beth moved into a tiny apartment just across from the mall. They were happy, they knew the sex of the baby but they wouldn't tell us. I had asked Dez to come over and help Ally look after Harmony while I was gone.

' Austin ' I heard her call from the sitting room, I walked in and she was lying on the couch. "Austin can you lift me? "

I walked over and picked her up, she rested her head on my chest.

It was the anorexia, it came back. She is at her weakest, but her medication seems to be working, but for now she is lifeless.

" Als, we haven't brought you for a check up in 2 weeks, maybe tomorrow might be a good time " she nodded, barely able to keep her head up.

I sat down on the couch and left Ally on my lap as Dez walked in.

" Hey the monkey is asleep. I better get back to Beth. How you doing Allycat? "

" I'm doing okay, thanks Dez "

" Well call if you need me " I went to get up to see Dez out, forgetting Ally was lying on me.

" See you soon man " I called from the sitting room.

A few minutes of silence later, I shook Ally gently.

" Als, are you going to eat something or go to bed, would you eat a pickle? "

" I can try.." I got up and grabber her a pickle from the fridge, she attempted to nibble the edge of it, but it proved too much. " No, I'm just going to go to bed"

I helped her off the couch and watched her struggle to get up the stairs. I followed her up and went we both walked into our room, where harmony was asleep.

" She's so beautiful Austin, we're so lucky. "

" No, I'm so lucky. I have the two most beautiful girls in my life. "

All of a sudden Ally fell into a hug in my arms and sobbed.

"I am so sorry Austin, I'm sorry I'm putting you through this." I was too taken aback to know what to say. I just rubbed her back and lay on the bed with her.

Guess this is life now for a while
