"Katie this isn't the way to the park, it's that way," Jenna pointed out.

"I know." A devilish smile formed on Katie's face.

"Katie?" Jenna asked cautiously.

"What?" Katie shrugged, an innocent look washed over her face, but Jenna could see right through it like a glass window.

"Where're you taking me?"

"Not to the park," Katie answered blandly.

"Katie, you promised!"

"No, no, no, I did not promise. I just simply replied with a 'yup.'"

"But you still lied!"

"In my defense, you should've never listened to me."

"Wha-" Jenna threw her hands up exasperatedly, then crossed her ams over her chest, slouching in her seat with a pout. Jenna wasn't gonna just walk back to school.

Katie had won, yet again.

"Jenna, stop being so moody, just have some fun for once."

"I've had my fair share of fun, and look what happened." Jenna leaned her head against the window. She couldn't believe Katie.

"But he wouldn't want you to be living like this, Jenna."

Jenna knew exactly who Katie was talking about.

"He would tell you to get off your ass and tell you to be social, to make some friends, to live your life as a teenager, to have fun."

"You don't understand, Kat." This was the first time in a year Jenna has used Katie's nickname. It felt foreign rolling off of Jenna's tongue. Katie's heart swelled and she tried to pay attention to the road.

"I might not understand, but I do know he loves and cares for you and wouldn't want you to be-no offense, but.. an uptight bitch." Katie pressed her lips into a straight line and glanced over at Jenna.

Something inside Jenna deflated and she knew Katie's words weren't supposed to hurt her, but they did and they stung.

"Please, just for today, have some fun," Katie begged.

Jenna opened her mouth to protest, inhaling a breath making her sit up straighter, but she closed her mouth. There was no point, there was no way she could get Katie to take her back to school, so Jenna gave in and leaned back on her seat.

Katie took it as a 'fine, but I'll have to kill you later.' But, Katie was okay with that because she knew her best friend would have some fun for half an afternoon.

-

"Where are we?" Jenna asked.

"You remember the guy I told you about? The one I met at the party?"

Jenna nodded.

"Well, I think I gave him my number and he called this morning, saying that he would like to see me again." Katie smiled.

Jenna hopped off the car and slowly approached the small, blue house. It was a cute size for a house, nothing too fancy nor too shabby. A small little garden was growing in the front lawn, a large tree was set to the side of the house, and green grass covered the small piece of land.

Katie knocked on the door nervously. They waited five minutes, but no one answered. Katie knocked again, more firmly. This time a muffled voice from behind the door saying, "Comin'!"

A thud was heard inside and then the door opened. Jenna's eyes widened as they landed on a boy with curly hair.

"Oh, hey, it's you." The Boy waved at Jenna, then Katie. "Erm, how'd you find me?" The Boy narrowed his eyes at Jenna.
