"Sorry for intruding Professor Snape, but can I please speak to Harry Potter for a moment?" Alexandrina masked her weariness with a false optimism, hoping Snape wouldn't sense anything wrong. Harry sat in the far back with Ron, a cauldron in front of the two of them, and from the corner of Alexandrina's eye she could see the confusion on his face.
"For what reason" Severus Snape replied coolly barely reacting. She knew he tolerated her, which was far more than most students, but she still had to make sure she was careful.
"Professor McGonagall asked me to bring Harry to her classroom with the rest of the champions" Alexandrina spoke, quickly making up a white lie.
"And why did she not ask me herself"
"I'm not sure professor, but you can ask her yourself later" Alexandrina replied without missing a beat, trying to sound as normal as possible. If she sounded unfazed, she knew Snape probably wouldn't ask McGonagall and that's what she was hoping.
He looked at her waiting for her to break her facade, but Alexandrina held in her panicked breath keeping her face neutral.
"Fine" Snape looked almost bored when he decided she wasn't going to falter anytime soon, "You may go Mr. Potter"
Alexandrina let out a quiet sigh, knowing that if she wasn't the Slytherin prefect, Snape would not have let her off the hook as easily. She waited for Harry to gather his things and meet her at the door before thanking the professor once again and leaving with Harry at her tail.
"Alex what-"
"Shh, not yet" Alexandrina cut Harry off before thinking of a room the two of them could go to talk about the recent revelation. The Room of Requirements came to her aid, as a door appeared on the wall beside them. "Come on"
When the two of them entered she realized the room was almost identical to the Gryffindor common room, the fireplace ablaze in one corner, and couches spread throughout.
"I thought we were going to see Professor McGonagall?" Harry looked confused but still followed Alexandrina to a table, setting his books down.
"Well, I lied" Alexandrina sat down on one end of the table, and gestured for Harry to do the same, her posture rigid "We need to talk Harry, and I need you to be completely honest"
"What's wrong Alex? Did something happen?" Harry looked genuinely concerned, it warmed Alexandrina a little bit, and she decided to relax slightly.
"I need you to tell me about Sirius Black" Alexandrina watched Harry's blue eyes go from concerned to walled up, his position guarded.
"What do you mean? The prisoner who escaped? Why would I know anything about him Alex?" She could tell he was lying from a mile away, and his lie was conformation enough that Sirius was in fact not lying. Harry did know who Sirius was, that much was obvious. So she decided to let her guard down before his.
