Alexandrina and Harry we're gone for almost four hours, talking and discussing different theories as to what Sirius had said. She told Harry her fears about being connected to such an evil family, but then she realized that if Sirius was Harry's godfather that practically made Harry her family. She had asked Sirius if he knew where her mother was, but he had no idea, so the only thing Alexandrina could do was trust her mother's word and hope that Alice was in fact safe from any sort of harm.
They were gone so long, they had accidentally missed supper, but Harry assured her Ron could sneak them food from the house elves later if she wanted.
But Alexandrina had prefect duties that night, so she politely declined and decided that she would be telling Cedric what happened in the Room of Requirements that night. He was already a part of this whether he liked it or not.
Trying to figure out whether to tell Darcy and Fleming was conflicting, for she wanted to tell her best friends, but the less people knew the safer she and them would be. When she told them she passed out in the Common Room all of a suddenly and hexed Draco Malfoy, Fleming fussed over Alexandrina before laughing her head off over the latter. However while neither one of her best friends noticed it, Darcy had stayed quiet, almost like she knew exactly what was happening.
That night, Cedric and Alexandrina were walking through the corridors her filling him in on the day's events, before realizing they could probably be done earlier if they split up and scout the hallways two at a time. Splitting up, and deciding to meet in the astronomy tower after midnight, the two of them split, Alexandrina walking through the hallway of a few classrooms, and Cedric at the Grand Staircase.
Alexandrina walked with her wand lit up in front of her, relieved that Cedric had taken all the information so nicely. She felt like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders, and was just trying to get back to Cedric as soon as possible.
She started feeling a strange buzzing noise that sounded like background noise, but was unbothered thinking they were the pesky ghosts that wander through the portraits. But she didn't notice the figure creeping up behind her, a Muffliato and Silencio charm cast on her to keep her oblivious to the loud uneven footsteps.
Two hands wrapped around her, and when her instinct was to scream but no sound came out, her panic began to grow, for she knew she had been charmed. Her wand fell out of her hand, and rolled five feet in front of her, as she continued to struggle against the person strangling her body.
She suddenly couldn't move, her body now forcefully still, and when she felt the tip of a wand on the side of her head, the words 'Legilimens' whispered by a croaky voice, she completely lost control.
As old memories of her mother and her began to fill up her mind, she began to shake, trying to stop the attacker from going any further. She felt herself scream 'Finite Incantatem' in her mind, and felt herself being launched forward onto her knees as she felt the charms put on her fade away.
She crawled quickly and grabbed her wand which was just in front of her, and swiftly turned around just in time as she heard 'Stupefy.' With a flick of her wand she disarmed the opponent's wand in front of her before they were able to send the charm her way.
In the process, The 'Lumos' charm on her wand was gone now, so the corridor became pitch black, using this opportunity, her attacker grabbed their wand and faded right back in with the shadows. When she whispered 'Lumos' once again, she found herself alone, the sound of footsteps running away from her unevenly.
Alexandrina felt herself lay on the ground, paralyzed at the events that had occurred through the day. She felt her eyes close, not giving a second thought to the fact she was laying in the middle of a dark corridor.
"I'm not safe anymore" Alexandrina whispered out loud before relaxing against the cool wood floors.
She kept her eyes closed, thinking about what had just happened, how she kept letting her fears consume her, and because she did that, more fears kept adding up on top. Alexandrina knew that if she kept overthinking everything, and let her doubts and hatred continue to consume her, she wouldn't get to live the life she wants to. Her hatred had once blocked off Cedric for years, and she didn't want to live paranoid for the rest of her life. She wasn't willing to shut out everyone in her life again, not even if it cost her safety in the process.
"Alex! Alex!" The sound of someone calling out her name woke her up from the dreamless sleep she had briefly entered. As she stood up, her wand out in front of her ready to attack, Cedric stepped around the corner, making her sigh as she eased her arm. "It's almost twelve thirty Alex, where have you been?"
"Ced" Alexandrina ran into Cedric's arms, she body knocking him back a few steps off guard, "You have no idea the night I've had"
"What happened to you? There's a circle on the side of your head Alex, what's going on?" Cedric pulled back, and turned Alexandrina's head to the side, as he brought his wand closer to the side of her face. "That's a bloody wand mark"
"Someone attacked me, and tried to use Legilimens, but I got out of it" Alexandrina began, "I didn't know they were coming, they placed silencing jinxes on me and themselves, I got out of the Immobulus charm but I didn't get a chance to see who-"
Cedric brought Alexandrina back into his arms, his pounding heart cutting her off. "I shouldn't have left you alone, I should've known better"
"Stop Cedric, this isn't your fault, and it's not mine either, for Merlin's sake we don't even know why I got attacked! I can't live my life in fear over Sirius or my mum's words, it'll consume me" Alexandrina held Cedric's face in both of her hands, his hazel eyes locking with hers, "We're going to live our lives normally, me helping you prepare for the maze, that's it. No wanted fathers, no creepy stalkers, no missing mothers, none of that, our only worry is winning this stupid tournament Cedric"
"But-"
"Nope don't even try" Alexandrina cut off Cedric's protests.
"Fine. But I'll only agree if we stop trying to cut corners, and do prefect duties together from now on"
Alexandrina only smiled cheekily, "Lets see...I think I can manage that"
