Now that there is a second movie and book, I'm just letting you know this was written after the first movie came out, so some things will be a little different now that there's new content.
Deep down, I knew accepting a placement at the University of Washington would put added stress on our already shaky, long distance relationship.
Noah wanted me to go to Harvard, I did too. But I wasn't accepted. We even talked about me going somewhere close by.
But one evening when I was looking through my list of college's that offered great French courses, I found a clip online of a lecturer at the University of Washington, taking a French lecture and I couldn't stop watching. She was great and really reaffirmed that this was what I wanted to study.
So I applied, and I got accepted.
Noah was disappointed, but after I had been so encouraging of him going to Harvard, he just wanted me to be happy and accepted that this was what I wanted.
We really tried to make it work, but a few months after I moved to Seattle, my Dad got a new job in Chicago.
Life got extremely busy for both of us and on holidays I usually went to Chicago to see Dad and Brad. Not to mention Lee was at UCLA. We were all at opposite ends of the country, which made it doubly hard to see each other.
I tried to get to LA as much as I could, but that got less and less with my family no longer living there. Noah and I visited each other a few times, but that got too hard as well.
We did this for a year before it all just got too hard.
I didn't want to lose him, but we both decided maybe it was best if we took a break to focus on our studies. To be honest, I was ok with taking a break because I really thought we would get back together later, maybe after we graduated.
But life doesn't always work out how you think it will.......
