Hey, I've been having so much fun writing this that I decided to try writing my own original story called Rough Waves. It's a teen romance kinda story, so if you like The Kissing Booth you might like this. And thanks for all the support!

The week passes by in a blur of hugs, tears and funeral arrangements.

I only see Noah a handful of times after our first encounter.
I haven't really interacted with him after I was introduced to Bethany, she was all politeness in front of everyone but, when no one is looking she gives me the nastiest looks and rude comments under her breath so only I can hear.
I ignore her not wanting the drama when we all already have enough to deal with.

I catch Noah staring at me every so often and wonder if Bethany has noticed and that's why she's being so horrible, I assume she knows I'm his ex, which is probably another reason for the bitch on a stick reaction.

Lauren, on the other hand, has been amazing, we have both been making sure Mrs Flynn has nothing to worry about other than organising the funeral with her boys and my Dad.

Poor Dad, I can tell he's struggling. This must bring back memories of when mom died and now he's having to say goodbye to one of his best friends.

He has a new girlfriend, Meredith, who he's been seeing for a few months, but I don't think you ever really get over your first real love. Meredith stayed back in Chicago as she couldn't get time off work, but I think it was probably for the best anyway, it's been really nice just us, just like old times.

The funeral is tomorrow, then I have to leave the day after and Dad and Brad are leaving the day after me. So tonight we are having a Flynn and Evens family dinner, just like before we all went our separate ways. We decide to have it here at the Flynns since we don't really feel like going out somewhere. Lauren and I are cooking the main meal and Brad and Lee are doing dessert.

We are all joking and laughing while we potter around in the kitchen, then Noah and Bethany walk in. There's a bit of an awkward silence as we all look at each other, then I randomly shout out, "It's wine time bitches, who wants some?"

Bethany raises her eyebrows at me and gives me a pity look, while Noah is giving me his trademark smirk. She notices and elbows him in the ribs. The poor guy, she really is a nightmare, but I guess that's the price you pay if you want gigantic jugs and long flamingo legs.

Lee pours them some wine and they go and join June and my Dad out by the pool.
"I thought Lee was over exaggerating when he said Bethany wasn't too fussed about you, but damn she looked like she was going to rip your arm off and beat you with it when she saw Noah smiling at you," Lauren says.

"Bunny boiler alert!" Brad chimes in.
"I feel like I should be scared for my life," I say half-joking,
"Should I be sleeping with a weapon under my pillow?" I add.
"Don't worry Elle, we'll protect you from the psycho cheerleader, as long as she doesn't follow you to England," Lee says with a laugh.
"Gah, don't say that I'm already paranoid enough as it is."

Then I hear Noah clear his throat from the doorway and we all freeze.
"Just came to grab the wine bottle."
Poor Noah, I feel like he wants to joke around with us too, but it's just gotten so awkward and Bethany doesn't seem like the laughing, smiling, just in general, happy type.

He grabs the bottle and starts walking back out; he stops at the doorway and turns to look at me.
"Don't worry Shelley, I'm eighty to eighty-five per cent sure she wouldn't follow you to London."
My eyes go wide.
"That leaves a lot of room for it to turn single white female."
I quickly put my hand over my mouth, crap did I just say that out loud.

Luckily Noah just let's out a loud laugh before turning and heading back outside. Once he's a safe distance away we all burst out laughing, except brad who just looks at me like, huh? It's a movie brad, Google it!

We finish up and head out to the patio to have dinner. We have a really great time reminiscing about when we were younger.
Telling stories of when Lee dressed in a tutu for Halloween, Lauren is by no means surprised. When Tuppen wore a skirt to get my number, I notice Noah not laughing at that one.

The time we did the kissing booth and Lee blurts out that it was my first kiss with Noah, I glance at Bethany and she looks like she's planning where to bury my body.

Man, she really doesn't like me. I can't understand why I have it on good authority that I'm totally awesome and Noah and I haven't been together in years. I think I'll lock my bedroom door tonight.

Then Lauren goes and brings up that horrible kiss between me and Lee at that party on the beach years ago. Noah chokes on his drink.
"You what?"
Crap, that was never meant to be public knowledge, everyone is staring at us.

"You told Lauren! We said we would never tell anyone, ever!"
Lee shoots Lauren a 'we will discuss this later' look.
"Sorry Elle, it was so long ago and she asked me if we ever had, I didn't want to lie to her."
Then Noah speaks again,
"What the hell! Was that when we were dating?" He looks pissed.

"Calm down Noah it's not how it sounds. We were playing truth or dare at that beach party we went to after you left for Harvard. I was dared to go skinny dipping in the ocean but was a little too tipsy so I had to do the forfeit, which was kiss Lee. It was so gross by the way!"
"Ouch, hate the game, not the player. Plus I'm pretty sure you said I was way better than Noah," Lee says.

"Ha, you wish," I say casually while about to take a mouthful of food. Crap, I said that out loud too didn't I.
I can feel my cheeks going bright red as I look up and everyone is trying not to laugh, including Noah who now has a big grin on his face, that is until Bethany elbows him in the ribs.

We manage to get through the rest of dinner without any more embarrassing stories and decide to get an early night as it's going to be a big day tomorrow.
