Over the next week, life goes back to normal.  I had a chat with my boss Cheryl and even though she wasn't very happy when I told her I was looking at moving, she understood. She has connections all over the place so she said she'd keep an eye out for me.  If things work out I'll hopefully be back in the U.S by Christmas.

A couple more weeks go by and it's time for another work trip to France.  I love working in France, definitely the best part of my job and since this trip may be one of my last I want to make the most of it.

I'll still visit France whether, for work or a holiday, it's one of those places you can't help but fall in love with.  The food, the wine, the history, the scenery!

I still haven't told anyone about my plans yet.  Cheryl told me a few days ago that there is a lot of translating and tutoring positions in Chicago due to the fact that it's so close to French Canada, so I'm seriously thinking of going there. It'll be really nice to be in the same city as Dad and Brad again and I really do love Chicago.

I'm really nervous about how Renee will take this though, we have become such great friends but we were never going to stay in England forever.  I guess I thought we would have more time though.  I think I'll tell her when I get back from my trip.

I'm almost finished packing when I hear the doorbell ring; who on earth could that be at 10 am on a Wednesday morning.
No ones usually home this time of day.  It's probably the Morman's and I'm tempted to pretend not to be home.  But what if it's not? It could be a package delivery or something, so I decide I better answer.
I head downstairs and when I open up the front door standing there like a sweet piece of eye candy is Noah.

"Noah!" Is all that comes out of my mouth, I'm totally dumbstruck.
"Hey, Shelley."
"Bethany isn't here is she cause I swear...."
Noah interrupts me with his sexy, knees go weak, panty-dropping laugh. "Don't worry she's not here, I kind of told her I needed some space."
"Oh! Are you ok?"

Then I suddenly remember my manners.
"Sorry come in, would you like a drink or something to eat?"
"Thanks, Shell, I'd love a coffee and to be honest, I'm not great."
"Come sit, I'll put the jug on."
He sits at the dining table and I get us both a hot drink.

After living in England for so long I've become something I vowed never to be 'a tea drinker'.  I tried to resist but if ya can't beat them, join them.  I grab a teabag out of the jar and ask him,
"So what's going on, how come your here?"
"Well, you did say your door was always open." He smiles at me.

"And it is, but you know there's this thing I like to call a phone, great for ringing or texting people, maybe informing people of an imminent visit."
"Yeah sorry about that Shelley, I kind of did this last minute.  Bethany came over after cheer practice and she was being more annoying than usual so I told her to leave and give me some space.  Then I was sitting in my apartment alone thinking about dad and I just had to get out of there!  I packed a small bag intending to fly to L.A. for a few days then at the airport I saw London on the departures board and Baam here I am."

"I'm sorry to hear that, but you have the worst timing, I have to leave for the airport in half an hour."
"Oh!"
And his face falls, then I think of a brilliant idea.
"You wanna come? I'm going to Nice in the South of France for a few days for work.  I have a few meetings but the rest of the time I have free for whatever."

"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, it'll be great to have someone to hang out with, I'm usually by myself," I say smiling at him.
"Have you been to France before?" I add.
"No, I've always wanted to go but I'm always working.  I get to travel a little with work but I never really see much."
"Well, it's time we change that, there is so much to see and do out there and we are starting with Nice.  How long were you planning on staying?"

He's smiling at me.
"For a few days at least."
"Great, I have my last meeting on Friday.  How about we leave France Friday evening and then do the sights of London over the weekend and if you want to stay longer I could take some days off and we could go further out of London."
"Sounds perfect," he says.

We finish our drinks and head out the door to the airport via the underground to give Noah a proper London experience, plus we can weirdo watch (that's people watching, but The Tube Edition) mine and Renee's favourite pastime.

I find myself getting maybe a little too excited about this and with big boobs Bethany out of the picture, who knows what could happen.
We manage to get him a ticket on the same flight as me and as we're waiting by our departure gate I send a quick text to Renee.  She can't quite believe she gets to meet Noah on Friday night, I've told her all about him over the years and she's seen photos.

She'll probably be dry humping his leg before he even gets through the door but she's totally harmless.   I actually think it'll be quite entertaining when he meets my flatmates, they're the best but they have absolutely no boundaries.  It makes me smile thinking about all the inappropriate questions I know they'll ask him and they'll probably act like complete idiots, but that's exactly why I love them, there's never a dull moment that's for sure.

I look over at Noah who is looking at his phone; he looks so good.  He looks up at me and smiles.
"I've missed you, Shelley."
I smile back.
"Well, you know I've never been to New York, maybe it's time I organised a trip there soon."
"I'd really like that, then I can show you all my favourite spots."
We sit there grinning away at each other.
"Sounds perfect."
