Dilemma of the heart

Zero and Kaname were having a private chat while Youji was asleep in the bedroom near by. Zero and Kaname always seemed to be at odds but when it came to Youji something inside their hearts was starting to change. They both usually didn't understand having an interest in being with a woman let alone feel the same for one person. Zero Kiryu is a hypocritical Hunter because he's both a Hunter and Vampire so his desire for blood made him feel like a monster. Zero drowned himself in his Hunter work trying to avoid the female population and Kaname just never found someone who understand his way of wanting to balance between the two races. Kaname grabbed Zero neck shoving him to and then leaned forward before he deeply bit into his neck. Zero grunted loudly before he spoke:

(Zero) " Kaname...Don't..that hurts..Fuck..."

Kaname tilted Zero's neck more to the side sinking his fangs deeper and Zero groan absent- mindedly moan feeling a moment of pleasure. Kaname smirked against Zero neck before he finally released his bite and looked at Zero Who had his eyes closed.

(Kaname) " I see you still fall for my bite even though you like her ..how interesting"

Zero opened his eyes glaring at Kaname but then he frowned before he spoke again.

(Zero) " So what if I like her..she's different and we both know she doesn't see us as monsters but I wondered if she meant what she says at least until we've gotten to know the past few months"

(Kaname) " She's a very special..woman and I can sense she cares for us but little by little her warmth along the beat of her heart  is beyond anything I felt before. I know you feel the same but I'm not your enemy Zero"

(Zero) " Kaname..you have helped me through some tough times which indeed you had a reason behind it but I don't really hate at least not in the way you think. Kaname..it's my nature as a Hunter to hate vampires but even admit I don't understand why vampires do the thing they do"

(Kaname) " Zero..I may by the eldest vampire alive and considered the king because of my family name but even I want the humans to have a chance to fight back. I have always wanted the human and vampires to be equal but from time to time even admit there's corruption within the noble vampires. Since I'm a Noble vampire I can't just go on a killing spree to eliminate the threat so I have to plan things out"

(Zero) " That makes sense ..I really hate when you use me though..it makes me want to hate you for using me . I know it's because I can't be controlled by any vampire because of my Hunter abilities"

(Kaname) " Indeed that's the case even I know what I do is wrong but I have to use any means necessary . I know it's a bit too late for an apology but I'm sorry for using you Zero"

Zero blinks not sure if he heard him right and then he heard it clearly not sure how to respond. Kaname could see the surprised look on Zero's face and Kaname held out his hand to shake. Zero looked at Kaname's hand then cautiously grabs Kaname hand but felt a Zap and looked at Kaname give a real smile. Zero was so not use to Kaname being this nice it was creeping him out a bit so he took a deep breathe then spoke his mind.

(Zero) " Okay..I forgive..but stop smiling like that it's creeping me out and one more thing . Youji deserves our honesty and I'm not sure how she will react when we tell her how we feel about her"

(Kaname) " Fine..she's a woman but I believe this is our only chance to tell her the truth because once this mission is over who knows what will happen"

(Zero) " I guess that's true "

Suddenly they both heard a loud Scream coming from Youji's tent  then when they got there Youji was tossing and turning. Kaname got on her left side and Zero got on her right side shaking trying to wake her up but they both got pushed hard knocking them both back against the tent walls. Youji finally woke up with her hair in a tingled mess and she looked to see Kaname and Zero rubbing there heads . They turned to Youji who was confused why they were there until she looked at her hand which had a weird symbol on it. When she looked closer at it the symbol was actually a name and she gasped then whispered.

(Youji) " Mother...Mariel"

Kaname and Zero looked at each other before they spoke at the same time.

(Kaname and Zero) " Who's Mariel?"

(Youji) " She's..the archangel who gave birth to me and she was taken away from me when I was seven. She and I look great deal alike but she's a real Angel."

(Kaname) " She's the reason you're a Nephilim..but what happened in your dream..you were screaming a lot"

(Youji) " I don't really remember much but my mother was there she was warning me to be careful..it's been a long time since I seen her. She's still as beautiful as I remember but if she's using my dream to warn me then something dangerous is bound to happen or rather I need to be more careful with my power"

(Zero) " Don't worry it we will beside you and besides you're also very beautiful. I don't mean that in a creepy way ..I just mean..oh never mind"

Youji starts to laugh and Kaname also laughs then Zero walks out of the tent with a flushed face. Kaname turns to Youji putting a hand on her cheek and she looks at him.

(Kaname) " He's not wrong you're beautiful and not just in the way you look but it's because you seem to understand things better then most"

(Youji) " Well..a long time ago..I wanted to know about the world but you can't just easily understand someone unless you have been through something similar . I have never been in love but I know what it means to care for someone so deeply it hurts to see them in pain. I know that pain has many faces and many different ways of hurting someone but I'm determined to be honest with my heart tells me."

(Kaname) " Then you already know how Zero and I feel about you"

(Youji) " I have a feeling there was something going on but I won't tell you how I really feel until after this mission is over. I need to time to sort out my thoughts and I want to make sure that this warmth isn't just a fading memory"

Kaname grabs Youji's hand and places it over his chest then speaks:

(Kaname) " Trust me..it's not we care about you deeply and whoever you chose just promise we will still be friends"

(Youji) " Of course you're both special to me and you should know by now I don't lie but sometimes speaking from my heart is difficult"

(Kaname) " I understand..let's get some rest before we track down Rido..I have a feeling we are in for a long battle and I don't you to overdo it"

Youji went back to her sleeping cot and Kaname went outside to find Zero who was leaning against tree. Zero just gave a nod but Kaname knew  Zero heard everything they just talked about so they stood in silence until they went in there tent for a short nap. Kaname didn't need to sleep very much and Zero was young vampire so Sleep was essential for him. Tomorrow was definitely going be long night but it wasn't the battle they were worried about it was Youji . Youji would have to use a massive amount of her power to take down an old vampire and they wondered if she truly meant to go back to her village or possibly stay with them.
