"So...." Kate started, but was cut off when I blurted out "I like.....you". It just came out of no where. It was like someone made me say it, but when I saw Kate go on into a full on smile I knew that I had done the right thing.

"That was fast" Kate chuckled. "What do you.....mean?" I questioned as curiosity filled my body. "Well yeah see Charles you are cute and and stuff...." Kate went on, but everything else was a blur. The words that snapped me out of my daze was, "You wanna hang out sometime?" and I knew that I had just struck gold.

"Sure" I said my nerves no longer getting the best of me, "I would love to." I finished with a smile slowly spreading across my face.

I knew then and there that there was no way I could ever be without her and that no matter what that small part of myself told me about not getting too attached to her, was dead to me now. All I knew was that I had some what of a date scheduled.

Oh wait I told myself, we never scheduled anything and I didn't have her phone number!

Just when Kate turned to walk away I said "Wait" I could tell that you could hear the desperation in my voice. "When are we going to hang out?" I asked. "How about tomorrow after school?". "Ok" I answered as soon as she was done.

For the rest of the usual day at school, I couldn't help thinking about Kate, and where we were going to go. Later that night I told mother that I was going to go hang out after school with a friend.

"Ok" she responded with the slightest hint of relief and excitement in her voice which I assumed was from her finding out that I had made a friend at school.

The next day seemed like it went so fast. It seemed like each hour was only ten minutes.

As soon as the end of the day bell rang I flew out of the classroom and zoomed out the double doors that separated me from the outside world.

I quickly scanned the front lawn of the school for any signs of Kate. "Looking for me?" asked a familiar voice. A voice of a beautiful, and smart girl.

I wheeled around to see Kate standing there as beautiful as ever. "Shall we?" Kate asked reaching out for my hand. I hesitated for a moment then took her hand and we started out to where ever it was that she was taking me.
