"Where are we going?" I asked Kate, eager to know. "You'll see" was all she would say.
She went across the school road into the woods
We walked for about ten minutes going deeper into the mysterious forest when Kate came to a stop at a small clearing. "Here we are" she said as she let go of my hand. The sun shone through the tops of the trees giving the clearing a nice shady glow. It was about five thirty so the sun was at an angle in the sky giving the clearing slightly more shade.
Kate went and sat down on a nice smooth rock and gestured for me to come sit down next to her.
"So tell me about yourself Charles" Kate said. "Well" I started, not knowing where to begin. "I move alot because of my mother's unknown job that she never tells me about" I explained.
The darkness slowly took over the sky as I finished up about myself.
"Now it's your turn" I said with a smirk on my face as I turned to look Kate in the eyes.
"Well um....." she started to explain. I got lost in her words again for about the umpteenth time.
Before I knew it the sky was already pitch black.
"So yeah" Kate concluded
For about another hour we just sat and talked about school and everyday life.
"You know your not half bad" Kate said with a little chuckle close behind. "Thanks" I said rolling my eyes with a little laugh.
She laughed again this time though it was different. She laughed louder but softer.
She was perfect. Everything about her was perfect. Her smarts, her beauty, her laugh, just everything.
"About what you said earlier.." Kate started. "I like you...too" Kate said starring at the ground twirling her fingers together in her hands. Before she could say anything else I couldn't help myself but pull her into a kiss.
Her lips.
Her lips.
We held the kiss. We held it for as long as we could.
She finally pulled away and looked at her watch.
"Oh my" she said with a worried look on her face. "What" I asked starting to worry myself. "It's already midnight" she answered.
As she started off I followed her. "By the way" Kate said, "Your a great kisser" she finished.
