ARYN

Fire.

I closed my eyes and I welcomed the feeling that started anew. With the faintest touch of his, my senses heightened and I craved more of him. The problem I had was preventing my claws to lengthen and my eyes to darken from its original colour. His hands roamed my body as he continued on devouring my lips, claiming it as his. His lips capturing my moans of approval once he pulled me closer to his embrace. I pushed a little harder and caused him to land on top of the piano bench. I was straddling his waist and my hair was completely disheveled. Sweat was easing out of my skin, causing some of the strands to stick into my skin. I pulled away and breathe heavily. My hands were pressed against his chest, moving it the sides of his cheeks.

This time, I initiated the whole act and pressed my lips into his, biting his lower lip playfully, emitting a low groan from him.

"Aryn..." He mumbled against my lips the moment I slipped my tongue and fought it with his. What was happening to me? The intensity level of our chemistry was beyond my reach. Something wanted to get out of my system but I don't know what it was. I was in control and yet, at the same time, I didn't want to be. The desire to be his was there and I was... confused.

Was he my...?

When I stopped and removed my mouth from his, he stood up, and I was on his lap. I felt his fingers under my chin as he turned my face to meet his icy blue eyes but instead they were grey returning to its original shade. Did he feel the exact same thing I felt?

"What's wrong?" He asked, concerned.

That was my first kiss and I gave it to him. The connection I felt with him was nothing compared to what I would have felt with other guys. But what was this?

One moment he's cold and the next we feel the comfort with each other's presence.

I don't know.

"Nothing. I was just thinking. What is this?" I whispered under my breath. I knew he heard me. This time, he slightly tensed with my words.

"I don't know too. Ever since I met you in that café, I never stopped thinking of you. I feel drawn to you, Aryn. I didn't know what it was but there is a possibility that you are..." He didn't continue. We both knew what his next words were. The silence overruled but it wasn't awkward. It was comforting especially the heat emitting from our bodies. I was leaning against his chest, appreciating his even breaths and heartbeat.

"This was my family's private house." He suddenly spoke out of nowhere. I could feel the hesitance in his voice and by the way his body stiffened. I turned to face with and placed my hand on his right cheek, caressing it. My instincts were shouting at me, forcing me to reassure him that he shouldn't be afraid of opening up to us.

It was an unfamiliar feeling. I've never felt this intimate with anyone before. It was against how I usually acted.

He relaxed under my touch. "My mom was a professional artist who sold her paintings around the globe. My sister, however, was a pianist. My mom, dad, and I would attend to her performances every time. It was she who thought me how to play."

I noticed his usage of past tense wordings. He didn't even have to explain what happened; I only knew that all of them were gone now. Even though both of our parents were gone, he was dead and mine could still be out there... somewhere.

His breathing was tense and I took this opportunity to silence him from speaking any further. I placed my hand on top of his and gave it a squeeze.

"You don't need to continue." I softly said.

He leaned his forehead on top of mine. "I have to. I owe you the explanation as to why I accused you of working with the rogues. I befriended a lone wolf before and the trust I had for him caused me to lose my family and one-fourth of my pack members. He was the source of the Rogue King and I couldn't do anything about it."

He is now prioritizing his pack, protecting them from the hands of the Rogue King. Both of us may have the same enemy, but knowing how the Rogue King is targeting Lucy and me, I couldn't let him trust me completely.

"It's alright." I comfortably shifted in his lap.

"I understand. Atreus?" I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer to my body. "Promise me something."

"What is it?" His eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

I can't let him feel the betrayal once more.

"Don't trust me."

Fifteen minutes.

That is how long before the surprise test finishes. What subject, you ask? MATH. Out of all the subjects, it had to be math. Jax was clearly not bluffing when he informed me that it was Helios and Fae's aunt who was taking over.

I was watching her from my peripheral vision. She was wearing her black thick-rimmed glasses like a typical nerd. It wasn't really necessary since werewolves have clear eyesight if I am not mistaken. Her blonde hair kept in a neat bun. She was solely focused on the book in her hands, quietly flipping through the pages. From here, I could see her fondness with teen fiction. While doing so, I was playing with my ball pen with my index and middle finger, anxious with the amount of time left. Thankfully, I have been paying attention to Ms. Joy's class.

The bell finally rang and I immediately sprung up from my seat. Gathering my things, I quickly jogged and passed my paper to Ms. Io.

When I was about to leave, I heard her call out my name.

"Would you be interested in sprinting right after classes with me? Fae mentioned your excellent speed during Track and Field."

I nodded, "Sure. No problem but I have a shift tonight so would tomorrow be okay?"

"Of course! See you soon, Aryn." She winked at me with a knowing expression.

What's with this girl?
