Thor and I meet Natasha at the lab and enter together. The room already tense.
"Did you know about this?" Bruce interrogates clearly on edge.
"You wanna think about removing yourself from this environment, doctor?" Widow recommends.
"I was in Calcutta, I was pretty well removed."
"Loki's manipulating you."
"And you've been doing what exactly?" I glance at Steve, and he looks disappointed.
"You didn't come here because I batted my eyelashes at you."
"Yes, and I'm not leaving because suddenly you get a little twitchy. I'd like to know why SHIELD is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction." Banner points at a screen.
"Because of them." Nick points at Thor and me.
"Us?" Thor asks.
"In World War II Earth was threatened not only by Hitler and Hydra but a god who has been here for how many years again Diana?"
"Millennia's."
"Even Last year, the earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that leveled a small town. We learned that not only are we not alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned."
"My people want nothing but peace with your planet," Thor explains
"But you're not the only people out there, are you? And, you're not the only threat. The world's filling up with people who can't be matched, they can't be controlled."
"Like you controlled the cube?" Steve questions.
"You're working with the Tesseract is what drew Loki to it, and his allies. It is the signal to all the realms that the earth is ready for a higher form of war."
"A higher form?"
"You forced our hand. We had to come up with something."
"You had me." I reason.
"Yeah, a woman who retired because her boyfriend died." My face falls as I stare Director Fury dead in the eyes. I stepped up to him and shove him back a few paces.
"Wait you stopped fighting?" Steve questions looking at me. Everyone erupts into arguments, and Steve walks toward me. "Why did you stop."

"I was caught up in my own grief of losing you and the truth on what I saw humanity."
"But that's no-" I cut Steve off.
"You're supposed to be dead!" The room falls silent around. "You don't know what it was like to be trapped by tank threads and to hear your last words and be helpless to do anything. I broke after that I wanted to destroy anyone and anything, and I almost did. I almost caved in to my brother trick."
