Smile, You're Beautiful

Chapter 9

"Okay so what shall we do today?", Tanner asked after he was done playing.

"Um...it doesn't matter to me.", I said.

"But I want you to choose.", Tanner said.

"Hmm.... How about we go to the beach and go swimming? I can invite Maddie and her boyfriend.", I said.

"Sure! That sounds good. I'll just need to stop at home and get my swim suit.", Tanner said.

"Okay.", I said and than went into the kitchen to get something to eat.

I decided to make a smoothie. So I grabbed some strawberries, washed them, cut them in half, and put them in the blender. Than I grabbed the milk and put some in the blender. Than I put some ice in it and some sugar and blended the whole thing together.

As I was finished blending the smoothie Tanner came into the kitchen.

"What ya making?", Tanner asked.

"Strawberry smoothie. You want some?", I asked.

"Sure.", Tanner said.

"Okay.", I said and than poured the smoothie into two glasses.

"Here ya go.", I said handing him the glass.

"Thank you.", Tanner said grabbed the glass.

"Welcome.", I said.

After we finished our smoothies I went upstairs and put my swim suit on and put a turquoise tank top on with dark jean shorts, and my blue and white Aeropostale flip flops.

Before we headed over to Tanner's house I told my mom where we were going and that I would be home soon. She of course was fine with the whole idea.

I texted Maddie while Tanner was getting his stuff.

"Hey Mads you want to go swimming with Tanner and I you can invite Zach.", I said. Zach was Maddie's boyfriend. He had longish dark blonde hair and he was about 6 foot one. He was also very strong because he was in football. In fact he was the best player they had.

"Sure! I'll Call Zach and ask him. If he is busy I'll tell ya.", Maddie said.

"Okay! We are going to the beach over by the cafe.", I said.

"Okay! Sounds good.", Maddie said.

"Okay. Ttyl.", I said as Tanner came outside with a sports bag in his back.

"Hey.", Tanner said as he got into the car.

"Hey, I just talked to Maddie she is going to ask Zach about going.", I said.

"Okay. Should we just meet them there?", Tanner asked.

"Yeah we can.", I said and than started the car.

"Vrrrr.vrrrrr.",I heard my phone vibrate on the dashboard. I reached for my phone as we stopped at a stop light.

"Meet you in 10.", Maddie had texted me.

"Okay. See you soon.", I texted back right as the light turned green.

"Maddie is gonna be there in ten.", I told Tanner.

"Okay.", Tanner said.

Five minutes later we arrived at the beach. I was already in my swim suit so I just waited for Tanner to change and than we headed out to the beach. Once we found a spot under a beach umbrella. I took off my tank top but kept my shorts on. It was a strapless neon blue top that had strings hanging from the top seal of the suit.

"I like your suit.", Tanner said looking over at me.

"Thank you.", I said smiling.

"Well look who is finally here.", Tanner said looking behind me.

I looked behind me and saw Maddie and Zach walking toward us holding hands. I waved and Maddie waved back.

"Hey you two.", Maddie said as she sat down next to me.

"Hey Mads.", I said.

"Liking the sun?", Maddie asked.

"Yeah, it's nice to get out of the house.", I said while hearing Zach and Tanner talking behind me about cars and motorcycles.

"Yes. Exactly.", Maddie said.

"Hahaha.", I could hear Tanner laughing and than it turned into coughing.

I turned to look over at him to make sure he was okay. "You okay?", I asked.

He looked a little in pain but he still managed to say he was fine. I just told him okay and than laid down on my towel.
