The nurse came out. "Mrs. Katsopolis?"
"That's me! I'm Mrs. Katsopolis! Is he okay? Can I go in now?"
"Yes. He just woke up from surgery so-"
"Small words, I know!" I rushed to his room. "Jess?"
He instantly smiled. "Hi, Becky."
I walked over to his bed and pushed that pesky piece of hair out of his face. "You're comin' out of surgery better this time."
Jesse smiled. "Of all the days...."
"You just had to have an appendectomy when the twins were born." So much for small words .I smiled as a few tears slid down my cheeks.
"I'm gonna be fine, honey. I've survived much worse than this."
"You're very talkative and down to earth. Did they not use anesthesia?"
"I woke up 15 minutes ago."
"Oh.."
"Can we come in?" Danny stuck his head through the door.
"Of course."
The Tanners, Joey, Nicky, and Alex came in along with a doctor.
"Are you gonna be okay, Uncle Jesse?" Stephanie wondered.
"I've survived much worse than this."
"It's only a gun wound; it'll hear rather quickly if you take good care of it." The doctor put Jesse's chart back.
I stared at him.
"What?" He wanted to know why I was accusing him.
"You gotta take care of it like you take care of your hair."
"Speaking of which, how does it look?"
We all laughed. Even when thinks weren't looking so hot, Jesse thought of his hair.
He's gonna be okay. He's gonna be okay. He's alive, and he's healthy. And that's a very good sign...
