I woke up with the feeling of nausea that I'd been feeling for a few weeks. Why I didn't come to the conclusion that I was pregnant before the doctor told, I do not know. I rushed to the bathroom and hunched over the toilet. Jesse came in and held my hair while I hurled. After I was done, I blew out a breath and sat back on my knees, feeling much better.

"You okay, sweetie?" Jesse pushed my hair behind my ear.

"I'll live..." I got up to brush my teeth.

Jesse and I walked downstairs and took our seats.

"Morning!" Danny smiled. "Either of you two up for waffles?"

"Ugh. No thank you. I don't want anything." I responded.

"Morning sickness?" Danny wondered as he set a plate of waffles in front of Jess. He smiled and rubbed his hands together before digging in.

I breathed, "Oy." and nodded.

"Mommy, what is morning sickness?" Alex wondered.

"That's when Mommy feels sick, but she's really fine." Jesse explained as he loaded his fork with waffles.

"What is preg-preeg-perg-" Nicky tried to pronounce the words.

"Pregnant?" Stephanie asked as she drowned her waffles in syrup.

"Yeah."

"That's when your mommy has a baby in her stomach for nine-ish months." Joey explained as he grabbed more waffles.

"Where is he sleeping?" Alex held his fork in the air.

"well, he- or she-- sleeps in sorta a water bed." Danny poured some water into a glass for me and placed it in front of my half awake body.

I chuckled a bit and said, "Thanks, Danny."

"Why does this sound familiar?"

"That's what I asked when Aunt Becky was pregnant with Nicky and Alex," Michelle ate a big bite of her waffles. "Aunt Becky, if you're not gonna eat your waffles, may I have 'em?"

"Knock yourself out."

Michelle took the rest of the waffles.

"You better hurry up, girls, or you'll be late for school," Jess said as he got up to get some coffee.

"Mmm!" Stephanie grabbed some bacon and a waffle to go. "Bye, everyone." And she went out the door.

"bye!" Michelle waved and followed Steph out the door.

"Beck, if you're not feeling well, I can take Nicky and Alex to preschool." Joey offered.

"Would you? Oh, thank you. I'll make this up to you, I promise."

"No hurry. Come on, Nicky and Alex, let's go to school." Joey took their hands.

"Mommy feels sick?" Alex asked as he hugged Jesse.

"Yes, Mommy feels a little sick."

"Feel better, Mommy." Nicky hugged me.

"Aw, thank you, Nicky. I'll be fine in a few hours."
