Fayth POV
We stepped through the door and we found ourselves in a dark young teen boy’s room.
“Where are we?” Edward asked. I shushed him when I heard yelling. I inched towards the door and opened it a crack. A light poured in and I saw an older man sitting at a table with a bottle of liquor in front of him.
“Who’s that?” Edward asked which caused me to jump. Turns out, he was now standing over me and watching the man as well.
“I don’t know but he looks familiar…” I whispered. Suddenly, the front door opened and a younger Ed walked through the door.
“Where the hell have you been?” the man said in a stern, drunk voice.
“I was working, dad” Ed groaned. I gasped when I heard who that man was.
“Working? Where could you be working when you’re so talentless?” Ed jaw clenched but he ignored the comment and continued towards the hall. The man stood up and stood in front of the young teen. “I asked you asked you a question, boy. Where are you working?”
“I told you last week! I working on a small TV show called Supernatural!” He snapped at his father.
“You never told me anything!” the man yelled.
“Dad, you’re drunk!” Ed yelled back. I watched as he reached down towards the liquor but the man slapped Ed so hard the teen fell to the floor. The bottle tipped over and shattered on the tile floor.
My eyes widened as I watch the man get on top and Ed and started to beat him.
“Stop!” the voice came from neither of the man or teen. Suddenly, Ed walked from where he was hiding. “Please, stop!” he yelled to his father but the man did nothing to stop. The actors’ clenched fist began to shake as he watched his father beat his younger self. “STOP IT, YOU BASTARD!” he screamed as he began to run at the man.
“Ed, stop!” I cried as I shoved to door open and grabbed him from under his arms. He was bigger and stronger than me but I was able to hold him back…for a few seconds anyway. He broke out of me grip and I fell to the floor. “Stop!” I yelled and tried to grab him again but he was too fast. When I thought he was going to get his father, Edward stood in front of him and started to push him back.
“Lemme go! Lemme go! I need to kick his ass!” he shouted as he struggled against the characters’ grip. Having a metal arm must have some perks.
“They can’t see or hear you, you dumbass!” Edward shouted at Ed.
“Edward’s right, these are just memories! You can’t alter memories!” I cried. It took a few minutes but Ed slowly stopped fighting. When he stopped fighting, Edward dropped the limp actor. He fell to the ground and curled up into a ball on his left side. The scene around soon began to melt away and we were now standing in a police station.
“Where are we?” Edward asked me.
“San Francisco police department but I don’t know-”
“This is soon after he beat me…” Ed muttered. Looking from the curled up teen, I saw the younger him sitting in front of a desk. Both eyes were black but the right one was swollen shut. Blood caked in his blond hair. Bruises covered his face, neck, and maybe other areas on his body. His bottom lip was torn and bleeding as well as his nose.
“Your dad did-” I stop Edward from continuing by shaking my head. A middle aged, balding man sat at the desk Ed was at.
“We have your father in a cell for the night. Has he ever done this to you before?” the man asked. Ed didn’t do anything for a long while. He nodded slowly.
