AN:
Sorry this part took me so long to write- I wasn't really know how to continue the story.

The moment our lips sent electricity running throughout my entire body.

The feeling was indescribable- it was like my life was put on pause that night those years ago, and it had just been resumed again.

I opened my mouth to deepen the kiss, but Toni pulled away. I watched a crestfallen expression wash over her face.

"Cheryl, why did you ignore me after we almost kissed in Middle School?"

I sighed, remembering my despicable actions.

"Oh Toni, I'm so sorry," I murmured, looking down remorsefully. "I was just in denial, and I didn't know what my mother would think, and I still don't know what my mother will think, it's just such a mess, and- "

I was interrupted by Toni clasping one of my hands in hers. Sparks flew up my arm from where she touched.

"Hey, it's okay- don't worry about it, alright? Just don't start ignoring me again, and we're cool," Toni spoke softly. Her gaze somehow calmed me down almost instantly.

"Thank you, TT."

"No problem, but... what now?"

That question stumped me too. People talked about crushes being hard all the time- Now that I didn't care if it was okay or not for me to even have one, what was I supposed to do about it?"

"Well..." I began.

"So, do you have feelings for me?" Toni lead on.

"I- well-" I stuttered.

"Because I like you, Blossom. I really do."

Those words sent chills down my spine. "She likes me," I thought. "After I was such a bitch to her..."

My silence filled Toni's eyes with concern.

"Well, do you like me back? Because if not, this whole situation would be really awkward for m-"

This time, it was my turn to interrupt her.

I leaned forward, much more quickly than last time, and kissed her on the cheek.

"So, I take that as a yes?" She smirked.

I grinned. "You're an idiot, Topaz."

Three days later...

For the first time in awhile I actually wasn't dreading going to school, as I was excited to see Toni after the weekend. I never got her number, and our last interaction was our slightly awkward exchange once the bus from Greendale arrived at Riverdale High. I wasn't exactly sure how... well, whatever happened over the trip would translate into our school lives. To be honest, I could tell she wasn't sure either.

I climbed out of bed, and changed into a black top and a red skirt. As I brushed my teeth, I heard a voice from downstairs.

"Cheryl, catch a ride to school- I'm not driving you today!" My mother yelled in a slightly aggravated tone. It wasn't abnormally angry, but only the typical uptight demure of my mother's voice.

I rolled my eyes as I took down the ponytail I had slept in, watching my curly red locks spill onto my shoulder. After quickly running a brush through my hair and applying some quick touches of makeup, I picked up my phone, texting Betty for a ride.

Cousin, can you drive me to school today? Mother's being an asshole again.

No response.

I groaned, before texting Veronica.

Can you drive me to school? I need a ride, and Betty isn't picking up.

I twiddled my thumbs against the phone screen impatiently, until I noticed that Veronica had begun typing.

Why not text Toni to pick you up? ;)

DAMNIT VERONICA!

Okay, okay, I'll be there in five.

Shoving my phone into my pocket, I rushed downstairs, grabbing a granola bar before quickly pacing towards the door. As I reached for the doorknob, a sharp voice stopped me in my tracks.

"Wait, Cheryl, before you leave..."

Groaning, I slowly turned around to face my mother, standing behind me with her arms crossed.

"What is it, Mother? You don't need to torment me just because Jason isn't around for you to spend all your time praising anymore," I rebuked.

"Now now Cheryl, I was just wondering if you've... seen him recently. You know, after he left so unexpectedly," she replied, flashing an obviously fake false expression to accompany her words.

I felt nerves propel my heart into beating a hundred miles per hour.

"Nope, no sight of him."

"Never mind, you're no use," she scowled. "Now get to school."
