Betty and Jughead hate each other, but then suddenly, like the fires of hell burning up in their stomach, they snap.

What will they do? What will happen to the others around them? And what will happen in the aftermath?

chapter 4

JUGHEAD JONES

"Archie man! What the hell?!" I yelled, bursting through the doors of the Andrews house to confront my idiot ginger friend.

"Jug, I swear if you woke up my dad!"

"I don't care! Mel told me what happened!" I looked over and saw Archie looking down at is feet, shuffling slightly from side to side. "What was the one thing I asked you not to do?" I asked, in a bit more of a calmer tone.

"Not fuck up and cheat on Veronica," Archie said timidly, still looking towards the floor.

"And what did you do?" I asked, raising my voice slightly.

"I fucked up and cheated on Veronica," he said seriously, looking me dead in the eyes. Then suddenly, we looked towards the stairs of the Andrews household, as we heard noise coming down them.

"Oh, hey Jug. It's pretty late, are you gonna stay?" Fred Andrews, Archie's dad asked after seeing me.

"Uh, no thanks Mr. A," I responded before going back to stare and Archie before saying, "I'm off now," walking out the door, slamming it behind me.

VERONICA LODGE

"So... are you okay with today then V?" Betty asked as we made our way to school.

"Uhh, I guess. But B, what if he asks what we did last night?" I ask worriedly.

"Look," B starts, stopping us in our tracks before we go into school, "I'll be there, and anything that could go wrong, I'll make sure it won't."

"But what if I decide that, I don't want to do this anymore?" I ask, regarding our plan to string Archie along instead of dropping him like it's hot.

"If you don't want to or feel like you can't do anything, then don't worry about it. Okay?"

"Okay."

BETTY COOPER

After I had reassured Veronica about our plan, we walked inside the doors of Riverdale High, arm in arm. I knew I would have to reassure her about the plan, that was only natural that she wouldn't want this, but in my eyes, this will cause Archie more pain than just plain dumping him. We walk through the hallways of Riverdale High, and like clockwork, we see Jughead and Archie standing at Archie's locker, but this morning, the first morning of our plan, we decide that instead of B-lining for the student lounge, we would stay and hang out with them.

"Hey babe," Archie says as his arm wraps around Veronica's waist as he pulls her into a kiss. I notice Jughead roll his eyes, and find myself glaring in his direction, and get fixed in that position until he notices me looking.
