Betty and Jughead hate each other, but then suddenly, like the fires of hell burning up in their stomach, they snap.

What will they do? What will happen to the others around them? And what will happen in the aftermath?

chapter 11

ARCHIE ANDREWS

Jug and I walked into the Whyte Wyrm as I tried to clear my mind of the worries that inhabited it. The worries that what happened last time would happen again, but even more so because when you repeat a mistake it's worse. But then I had a moment when we walked into the bar where I realized, that wouldn't happen. It couldn't surely. Veronica and I weren't together anymore, and Jughead said that he would cover for me this time. But if he didn't cover for me then, then why would he when Veronica and I aren't even together. And also if I do something when some other girl now, it might destroy my chances of Veronica and I even getting back together.

"Arch?" Jug asked, as we arrived at the bar that lined one side of the place, "what's on your mind?"

"What if something happens between me and some other girl and then Veronica and I never get back together man? I still love her."

"Look, I've said I won't tell them if you wanna just relax-"

"You think that they only knew when you told them? Jug they followed us here, they saw me, they just forced it out of you so they had more to use against me," I said sitting down on the stool that was next to me, "I just don't know if I wanna put myself or her in that position again."

"Okay well, you can chill out or you can worry about Veronica coming by here and seeing you with another girl but I know for a fact she won't so whatever you choose to do is up to you," Jug said as he tried to walk away before I stopped him.

"How do you know that?"

"Her, Kevin and Betty are having a sleepover at Betty's house. V told me earlier. Betty has a free house so they went to the mall and then to Betty's. Okay?" Jug asked, as he began to walk off into the crowd. I thought about what Jug said over and over again as the crowd began chanting 'Serpent King' behind me while Jug downed whatever it was that he was drinking. What was the point in me being here if I was just gonna worry. I grabbed two beers from the barmaid working at the bar that night, and weaved through the still hyper crowd a I made my way to the centre to give one of them to Jug. The crowd quietened down when he saw me as I passed him his drink.

"To the Serpent King."

VERONICA LODGE

Kev, B and I have been wandering the shops all afternoon, constantly bouncing between the shops trying on different stuff. Kev and I hang back a bit as B rushed into Forever 21.

"Something's definitely going on," I said, watching B weave through the crowds, skimming the clothes as she went.

"I don't think so, but let's see what's happening."

"Oh, guys!" B said, rushing towards us, "I had the best idea."

"What is it?" I asked.

"We should have a party at mine tonight. My parents are away so let's do it!" She said, excitement coursing through every word she said.

"Uh yeah, that'll be great," I said as I pulled my phone out, "let's start building the guest list."

JUGHEAD JONES

"Hey Arch, have you seen this text from Veronica?" I asked, running over to where Archie was sitting at the bar.

"Yeah, I just got a message too. She probably sent it to everyone in her phone book," he said, looking at the message on his phone.

"Shall we go? Maybe we could bring some of the guys from here," Arch said looking up at me.

"Oooh, ask Veronica first I would man. It's at Betty's house isn't it, don't wanna do anything to piss the girl off when I can be getting on the piss."

Can Jug and I bring some of the serpents?

"I mean she said yes, so..."

"Hey guys!" I shouted, "if any of the younger serpents wanna come to a party on the Northside tonight, Archie and I are leaving soon." After getting down from a chair we made our way through the crowd to see Jug's usual gang; Fangs, Sweet Pea and Toni. "What do you guys think? You coming?" Jug asked as he walked up to where they were.

"Really Jug? The Northside?"

"It's at Archie's friend house, her parents aren't home. Bet it'll be wild, right Arch?"

"Yeah for sure, no doubt!" Arch enthused. The serpents were noticeably a bit unsettled by the idea of going to a party on the Northside where they wouldn't be in the majority, but I could see they were considering it at least.

"I think we can give that a try," Toni said finally.

"Great! Let's hit it," I said, as we turned away and started walking towards the door, with some of the younger serpents adding onto the group that were heading towards Betty Cooper's house on the Northside of Riverdale.

Hiya, so I'm baaaack!

I know I've been gone quite a while, but my country is on lockdown, so hopefully I'll be writing quite a bit more and posting at least once a week if not twice, but I'm also hoping to get a few other projects that I have planned to get up and running, including one shots and a glee story.

So.... Jug and Betty's affair continues, but what will happen at the party? Leave your guys' predictions in the comments, and we'll see who was right.
