chapter 8
BETTY COOPER
After the school day had finished I looked around for any of my friends around the school grounds. Spotting Archie in the far right, I debated whether to go talk to him, but figured that with everything that's gone down between him and V, I don't need him to walk me home. So I walked straight past Archie and Jughead standing at the school gate, and made my way home.
"Elizabeth!" my mom called as I walked in the door.
"Yeah?" I asked as I stepped into my living room.
"Your father and I are off to a writers convention this weekend, so you'll have to look after yourself this weekend."
"Okay, yeah."
"There's money on the table in the kitchen, but we're off right now."
"Oh okay then. Bye mom, bye dad." And with that, they were out the door. I had work to do this weekend, but not much. So without them here this weekend, it'll be easier for me to get that done. After spending about half an hour wandering round the house, listening to music, not really knowing what to do with myself, I started actually thinking.
And Jughead came into my mind.
But I couldn't call him could I? Surely not? Although earlier he did say he felt the same as me. So, in a split second decision, I decided to get changed into little amount of clothes, pull my hair down, and lie on my bed as I called Jughead. I was wearing white short shorts, with a pink vest and no bra on. I lay on my bed, listening to the ringer.
"Hey," I heard on the other end of the line.
"Hi."
"What's up?" he asked.
"So... my parents are away this weekend. I was wondering if you wanted to come over?" I asked, twirling my hair in my finger, trying to sound sexy. But even though it didn't sound like me, I liked it, so I just went with it.
"Oh really?" he asked.
"Yeah," I giggled over the phone.
"Okay, I'll be over soon."
"Good. I'll leave the back door open so you can come in that way."
"Okay, I'll see you soon."
"Hurry." And with that, I ended the call, smirking to myself about my newfound confidence.
JUGHEAD JONES
"Hurry," she said, and with that the phone call had ended. I started scrambling round getting dressed and getting what I needed before I could leave. I had changed into some black jeans, a tight fitting white t-shirt, a blue and black flannel with my serpent jacket over the top, and some black and white hi-tops. As I was about to leave the trailer and start walking over to Betty's, my dad came crashing in.
