hell hath no fury

"I hate her."

"I hate him."

Betty and Jughead hate each other, but then suddenly, like the fires of hell burning up in their stomach, they snap.

What will they do? What will happen to the others around them? And what will happen in the aftermath?

chapter 6

BETTY COOPER

Walking home, I couldn't understand what had just happened, or how it even happened. Heat of the moment? Undiscovered passion? Who knows. But ones things for sure, I won't be telling anyone. And as for whether it happens again, let's just go with the flow shall we.

Lost in my thoughts of what had just happened, smiling to myself, I looked up and noticed my mother running out of my house and onto our street.

"Elizabeth!" she cried, running towards me, "Veronica has been sitting up in your room, on her own, for two hours," she stated as she put her hands on her hips. "Why would you do that to her?" my mother asked, ice lacing her voice.

"Mom, it's fine. I went to find out something for V and if I could have taken her then I would've but I couldn't so," I responded as I made my way up the stairs, towards my room.

"And why couldn't you?"

"Because then maybe we might not know something that we now know," I snapped at my mother, before turning on my heels and going into my room, closing the door behind me.

VERONICA LODGE

I'd been sitting in B's room, trying to forget about where she was. She had gone to Jughead's, to find out what really happened. And this is why I love my best friend so much. She hates Jughead with a passion, but she put that to the back of her mind, for me.

I'm trying to think of anything but what Archie could have done, when I hear Mrs Cooper arguing with Betty. She had come in about half an hour ago with a coffee for me. I hear Betty's feet coming down the corridor, then she slams into her room, closing the door behind her.

"And?" I ask.

BETTY COOPER

"And?" V asks.

I don't know how to tell her what I had learnt at Jughead's, so I just make my way to my bed, and sit down opposite her.

"I'm sorry V."

It turns out that nothing more than that needs to be said, and V breaks down in tears, after probably having just composed herself from crying several times over tonight.

"You know what?" I ask, to which V looks up at me, her head still partially in her hands. "He doesn't get to do this to you. Come on we're going over there right now, both of us," I say, standing up and extending a hand up for V to take. "He can't deny facts," I say, as we walk out of my room and down the stairs.

"Mom! Dad!" I yelled to the kitchen where my parents were.

"What, Elizabeth?" my father asked, coming into the living room, where Veronica and I were stood.
