- PETER'S POV -

Everyone in the car was drinking sweet tea by the time we were out on the highway.

"This is really good Vlüta!" Jennie called from next to May. I laughed as Vlüta sneered and mumbled a, "Whatever."

Since Elle and I weren't really used to having three people in the back, we were pretty squished up. Elle's arm pressed onto mine and Vlüta's frail and thin figure was wedged into the corner between the seat and the side of the car.

"If you're squished back there, Peter, you can come and sit next to me?" Jennie flirted.

"I'd rather be squished by Elle than you." I retorted, Jennie turning her back on is again.

"Hey Logan where are we going now?" Elle asked.

"Well, we got a lead from Vlüta." He announced. "She says that a few men came in with a car that needed to be fixed. Apparently, she opened up the trunk to see a girl who she thinks is Rose and-

"Oh my god. Yes!" Harry interjected.

"Let the man finish!" Samuel smacked him upside the head.

"-aaand...she took note of their license plate. The car is being tracked by Professor Xavier at this very moment."

"Holy shit." I heard Elle mutter under her breath. I brought my arms around her and pulled her into a hug.

"Pietro oh my god." She looked up at me, hope lighting up her eyes.

"I know Ellie. I know." I smiled and hugged her tighter. Her golden hair felt like silk on my hands as I stroked her head. Elle was slowly becoming someone I could tell things to. Maybe I love her? But that's not possible, because I have never loved someone. Why would I break that record on some girl.

But she wasn't just some girl. She was Elizabeth Elliot Mercury. The girl who is my only friend. The girl who I would probably do anything for.

"Would you like some more tea, Peter?" Vlüta nudged me, forcing me to leave my thoughts alone.

"No thank you." I smiled. Elle had fallen asleep on my shoulder, her hair cascading down her's and my back. The way her lips parted when she slept made me want to kiss her. I wanted to so bad, but I couldn't.

"Stop staring at me you dork." She murmured from her sleep. I grinned and shushed her, moving a strand of hair out of her face.

"Everyone! Do I have everyone's attention?" Logan asked. "Yes? Okay. Professor Xavier just called, he said they've stopped in Phoenix, Arizona."

We all nodded and continued doing what we were doing before.

"I should probably tell you guys that you'll need your suit since we're not very far from where they are, and there will be fighting." We all nodded and prepared ourselves.

- ELLE'S POV -

It was about 30 more minutes after the announcement when the van stopped.

"Everyone go get changed so I can debrief you." We were ordered. Grabbing my suit, I left for the bathroom. The red, skintight suit I had picked out only a week ago fit snugly on my thin body. I adjusted it quickly and fixed my hair into a messy bun.

"You look beautiful." I heard Peter's voice, when I walked outside.

"Thanks." My lips tugged into a friendly smile. He was wearing a blue and white suit, similar to mine, but with some white boots and a tool belt. "Lookin good there Speedy."

"Thanks! It's limited edition Gucci!" He joked, pulling on the fabric around his stomach and letting it go, the loud smack echoing throughout the rest stop. We all gathered around Logan for our debrief.

"Alright guys here it goes: this place will probably be discreetly guarded, so I need Elle and Peter to see where the guards are." Both of us nodded.

"Once we find them, Elle will need to control the one's near the entrance not to murder us."

"Okay." I assured him.

"Then, Jennie, you and Vlüta will be our back up. If anyone tries to come at us, that's your cue to fight. "

"The rest of us will search the building and get out with Rose." We all nodded.

With newfound knowledge of the plan, we drove in complete silence until we approached a big school.

"Ready guys?" Logan asked.

"Ready."
