ch. 20 - the wake

hey guys, i'm so sorry i didn't update i had a really big breakdown and i was sobbing really hard and yeah i couldn't write and then i just put it off until now so SO VERY SORRY BABIES :'^(((((

- PETER'S POV -

Little did Elle know that I was still awake. The feeling of her lips on my forehead was still lingering when I heard her leave to get some food I guess.

I got up and called the nurse over to tell her I was awake.

"Oh honey! You're awake, that's wonderful!" She gushed, to which I just smiled and nodded. "Would you like to leave?"

"Yeah." I get changed and head to my room. When I get there, I almost cry of happiness, collapsing on my cushiony bed. My phone starts ringing by the time I've checked tumblr.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Ahh, hello Peter!" Jennie's annoying voice comes out of the phone's speakers.

"Oh fuck off Jennie, what do you want?"

"Just wanted to know if my little muffin is okay!" She giggled.

"Don't call me muffin." I growl and hang up.

That fucking bitch. I chuckle, and fall asleep.

- ELLE'S POV -

When I returned to Peter's room, I noticed the bed was empty. So of course I began to panic.

"Sweetie! Sweetie! Calm down! What's wrong?" One of the nurses asked me kindly.

"Wh-where's Peter?"

"Oh he woke up and went to his room."

"Thank you!" I smiled and rushed to his room, knocking frantically.

The door opened to find a sleepy looking Pietro. His silver hair was all over the place and he had bags under his eyes. Kind of made him look hot.

"Woah, hey." He said groggily.

"Were you napping?" I giggle. He was just sleeping, I mean.

"Well... yeah."

"Sorryyy." I groan and begin to walk out the door. "I'll let you sleep."

"No! No!" He shuffles towards me. "Come with me to the cafeteria I'm hungry."

"Fine." I chuckle.

"And also can we walk?"

"Yeah yeah, put on some shoes."

Once he puts on some converse, we walk to the cafeteria and eat our mac and cheese there.

"This was where we first met remember?" He smiles at me.

"Ah, it feels like years." I stare at the spot where I spilt his mac n' cheese.

"HUNGRY LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, TO CELEBRATE PETER AND ELLE'S RETURN, WE BRING YOU ONE OF OUR FAVORITE TUNES!" The loudspeakers fill the room as we glance at eachother.

♪ This thing called love I just can't handle it, this thing called love I must get round to it! I ain't ready! Crazy little thing called love! ♪

We giggled together for the remainder of the song, for the sole reason that this was the song that was playing when we met as well.

"It's our song!" Pietro exclaimed. I giggled and nodded. When we were done, we slowly strolled back to Peter's room. He was texting half the time.

"Who are you texting?" I asked him as we approached his door.

"You'll see." He smiled as my phone vibrated. I checked the text noticing it was from Peter.

i think i might love you too

My eyes widened, and I looked at Pietro who just winked, and walked into his room.

I screenshotted the text, and walked back to my room, going to sleep instantly.

Did he really love me?
