“Maxi Pad you absolute wanker!” I whined childishly as I stormed into the kitchen wearing nothing but my towelling bathrobe. I was too pissed off to think about how much skin I was showing the other four boys who looked up in surprise as I came in. “How the hell do you manage to use all the hot water? You don’t even have hair!”
The boys all cracked up laughing, having to hold onto the bench to stop from falling off their chairs. Immature bastards.
“Maybe you should go get dressed, then yell at him,” Jay suggested, still laughing.
“Why Jay?” I raised an eyebrow and planted a hand on my hip, not realising it would make the already short hem ride up a bit further. “Is my lack of clothes making you nervous?” He just kind of cough-laughed and ran a hand through his curls, making me smirk before skipping upstairs and putting on a dress and my uggs. Style 101, taught by one Maeve George.
“Loving the uggs,” Tom whistled as I came back in and I laughed, poking my tongue out at him.
“Where’s my bitch at?” I asked, he knew exactly who I meant.
“Right here love muffin,” Taylah announced as she barged in as usual.
“Lemon drop!” I exclaimed, running over and tackling her with a hug like I hadn’t seen her in months, rather than since yesterday.
“I’m confused,” Nathan stood up. “Is she my girlfriend or yours?”
“Mine, duh,” I said obviously and he rolled his eyes before coming forward and hugging her, pressing a quick kiss to her lips.
“Bleugh!” I pretended to vomit and Tay reached out to swat the back of my head. “Anyway, what’s the plan for today?”
“We’ve got to go into the studio this morning to record,” Max explained. “Then we’ll take you girls out for lunch. We’ve got some news to share with you both.”
“WHAT?” We both asked at once and they just shook their heads with infuriating smirks. “That is so unfair! You can’t say that and then not tell us.”
“You’ll just have to wait and see,” Siva shrugged.
…………
“Can we go play?” I begged Max, bouncing on my heels excitedly.
“Alright, but be careful,” he nodded. “Don’t break anything.”
I just rolled my eyes and skipped off into the next room. This one was full of every instrument you can imagine. I went straight for the shiny black beauty in the corner, running my fingers over its surface.
“Haven’t been in here for a while,” Tay mused as she joined me.
“Mhhm,” I murmured, sitting down and flipping up the lid to reveal the black and white keys, all in a perfect row. I let my fingers run over them as they pleased, hitting a few clear notes. “Shall we?”
“We shall,” she said poshly, grinning along with me. I started playing a familiar tune, slightly toned down for a more acoustic version.
“The sun goes down,” I sang. “The stars come out, and all that counts is here and now. My universe will never be the same, I’m glad you came. I’m glad you came.”
Tay was dancing around the room to the music, half serious and half-jokingly. That went for both of us and it was how our little sessions like this usually went down.
“Turn the lights out now,” Tay joined in.
“Now I’ll take you by the hand,” I added.
“Hand you another drink.”
“Drink it if you can.”
“Can you spend a little time?”
“Time is slipping away.”
“Away from us so stay.”
“Stay with me I can make.”
“Make you glad you came!” We both sang loudly.
I jumped up from my seat and joined her in her crazy dancing. We sang along and danced like idiots. We were crumping and hair swinging and jumping around.
“Maybe they should be the ones recording,” a voice joked behind us. We turned around to find the boys in the doorway, smirking at us as they tried to contain their laughter. “Are you guys done in here?”
“Thought you had to record?”
“Studio’s double booked,” Tom shrugged. “We’ll come back tomorrow.”
“Yay! Then it’s lunch time!” I exclaimed, running out into the hallway. I could hear the others following me so I went straight out to the car. Smiling and waving to the few paps that were there. The others joined me soon enough and we sped off to a cute little Italian restaurant down a side street.
“Hey Aidan,” I greeted our usual waiter as we entered and took a seat at a little table near the window. A cute blonde girl brought over some menus, only freaking out a little bit to see the boys.
“Can I please have the carbonara?” I asked and she scribbled it down on a pad, adding the other orders and they were read out.
“So, what’s the news?” Tay pressed once our food had been delivered and everyone had started eating. The boys all looked to each other and grinned, but didn’t say anything. “Naaaath! Please tell me!”
“Oh alright,” he sighed, giving in to her pleading puppy dog eyes.
“Whipped,” Jay and I coughed at the same time. We grinned at each other and high fived.
“Okay, so here it is,” Max said, deliberately dragging it out for as long as possible.
“We were speaking to Jayne yesterday,” Tom continued. “And she was telling us that we’ve got a break in our schedule.”
“So we decided,” Nathan joined in, “to take you girls on a holiday.”
“Oh my god,” Tay hugged him. “Where? Where? Where?”
“That bit is a surprise,” Siva shook his head and we both glared at them before giving in and cracking into huge smiles. What can I say, we were way too excited.
“When do we leave?” I asked.
“Tomorrow.”
“Are you kidding me?” I exclaimed, jumping up from my seat. “We have to pack.”
“We needed this warning like a week ago,” Taylah agreed. We pulled the boys up out of their seats and back out to the car, talking excitedly about the upcoming trip the whole way.
