May 2012
“Maeve! Taylah! Look this way!” Voices shouted all around us. I kept my hand in Tay’s pushing through the crowd, keeping our heads down.
“Maeve, look up for a quick picture!”
“Taylah, is it true you’re having a secret relationship with Siva?”
“Maeve, what do you have to say about the rumours that you’re pregnant with Nathan’s child?”
The yelling continued until we managed to make our way through to the doors of the arena, being ushered in by bodyguards.
“Bloody vultures,” Tay grumbled, straightening her shirt and fixing her hair.
“You’re alive!” The boys cried out, engulfing us in a sweaty group hug.
“Oh gross!” I pushed them off. “Boys are honestly disgusting.”
“Sorry little miss I-don’t-sweat,” Tom rolled his eyes and I poked out my tongue.
“Go rehearse,” Tay shooed them off to the stage, crashing with me in the front row while they started going through their songs for tonight’s concert. We’d gotten here early because arriving at the same time as fans was always risky. We’d learnt that the hard way.
“Afternoon ladies,” Jayne called out as she breezed past. We called back a hello and automatically got out our phones to check twitter.
“Oh my god,” I groaned as I started going through my mentions. “He never stops I swear.”
“Creepy twitter guy again?” she looked over my shoulder at the feed. “I swear he’s off. Just block him already.”
“He’s not doing any harm,” I shrugged. My whole mentions were full of tweets from one account. I’d started getting them last year, and they were pretty much constant. I even followed the guy for a while, but that resulted in very persistent DMs, so it didn’t last long. Of course, after that were the betrayed ‘why did you unfollow me’ tweets and I felt guilty.
“He’s even draining my feed,” she observed, going through her own phone. I swear, his messages got weirder as they went along.
LittleGeorgeLover @AwkwardlyMavis please notice me! I love you so much, I literally dedicate my life to you.
LittleGeorgeLover @AwkwardlyMavis why did you unfollow me? Please, I just want you to get to know me and I know you’ll feel the same.
LittleGeorgeLover @AwkwardlyMavis I think about you all the time. I never stop thinking about you. Do you ever think about me?
LittleGeorgeLover @AwkwardlyMavis Don’t ignore me Maeve, I know you’re seeing these tweets. Can we just talk?
LittleGeorgeLover @ItssTaylahBitch Please get Maeve to check her mentions and talk to me again.
LittleGeorgeLover @ItssTaylahBitch She’s your best friend, make her see sense and give me a chance. I’m perfect for her.
LittleGeorgeLover @MaxTheWanted Make your sister follow me please. I promise I’ll treat her right. She deserves a guy like me.
LittleGeorgeLover @NathanTheWanted You’re like best friends with Maeve right? Get her to notice me? Please, I’ll do something drastic!
LittleGeorgeLover @JayTheWanted I saw those pictures of you and Maeve. I know you have a thing for her. Back off.
LittleGeorgeLover @JayTheWanted I’m not kidding, you don’t deserve her. She should be with a real man. Someone like me.
LittleGeorgeLover @AwkwardlyMavis I know you want me just as much as I want you. I can’t get you out of my mind!
I shivered involuntarily. Truth be told, this freaked me out a lot more than I let on. Those tweets were practically tame compared to some of the DMs I got. Some were at a level that had I shown any of the boys, he would have probably ended up in jail… or dead. Not entirely sure which. But for now, he wasn’t doing any harm.
“Girls, the audience will be getting let in soon,” Jayne informed us, startling me out of my thoughts. “You should probably head backstage.”
“Yes ma’am,” we saluted and ran backstage, laughing like little girls.
“Well if it isn’t TayWay and Little George,” the backstage crew greeted us, using the nickname I’d been given by the boys’ team. It was well known by now, pretty much everyone used it. Not that I was even that much younger than Max.
“Just here to keep our boys in line,” Tay laughed, accepting a high five from the sound guy and skipping over to the dressing room. “You better all have pants on.”
“Give us a sec,” a muffled voice came back, followed by a thud. “Alright, all good.” We barged in, catching the boys all pulling on their concert outfits.
I had to elbow Tay to alert her to the fact she was staring at Nathan’s exposed torso. She jumped and looked away immediately, blushing bright red. Siva stifled a laugh, being the only one to notice.
“Five minutes till go time boys,” a voice called from out in the prep area. The boys all pulled on shirts, covering up their toned bodies and eliminating any further distraction.
“You guys going to watch from the wings?” Max asked, looking to the two of us.
“That was the plan,” I shrugged, following them out of the dressing room as they got ready to go wow their fans. “You better put on a good show.”
“Don’t we always?” Nathan smirked cockily. We looked to each other and rolled our eyes, perfectly synchronised.
“It’s so creepy how you guys do that,” Jay shuddered, the last thing that was said before they ran out onto stage to the screaming of a whole arena.
They performed a whole lot of their songs as well as some covers, my favourite of which was definitely Iris. It sounded amazing with their vocals. Out of their songs, it was definitely Lightning, I just loved the lyrics and the music and just everything. Tay started screaming when they sang Gold Forever, even though we’d been to about a million concerts, and we danced shamelessly together backstage like we did every time.
When Personal Soldier came on we both got pretty emotional. Something about this song just pulls on your heartstrings. I could actually feel tears coming on. Not acceptable considering I wasn’t wearing waterproof mascara.
“Alright, this one is for two special girls who are watching tonight,” Tom spoke into the microphone between songs.
“They’re our biggest fans,” Max continued. “Whether we’re up here singing or just being ourselves and goofing around.”
“They’ve been there for us through thick and thin,” Siva joined in
“Even though they had no choice,” Nathan added with a laugh.
“So this one’s for you girls,” Jay finished. “We love you guys.”
They started singing Chasing The Sun, making us jump around and dance like complete idiots yet again. We were even singing really loudly too, thankfully far away from any sound equipment.
“Thank you ladies and gentlemen,” they started to close the concert. “We’re the Wanted, and it’s been a pleasure being here with you all.”
A.N: Just a warning that from here on, the story will be in normal time, rather than jumping months at a time. Just so you know :) Don't forget to comment if you're enjoying it!
