A.N: Little fun fact for you all, while writing this chapter, I actually sat there with a board game spinner to figure out who would land on who. #ragingsociallife
Sorry it's a bit of a filler, and a lot of talking. Yeah sorry :/
Confessions was a game Tay and I used to play at sleepovers with our friends from school. Basically, the rules were that someone would decide on a question, then we’d go around the circle and everyone would spin the bottle and they had to answer the question about the person it lands on. The only real rule was that you had to tell the truth, no matter what.
“Okay, so for example,” Tay explained. “The first question could be…”
“First impressions,” I suggested. It was a simple one that was good to start off with.
“Yeah good,” she agreed. “So, Maeve you start.”
I spun the bottle and it landed right beside me in the circle, pointing at Taylah.
“Okay, so considering the first thing you ever said to me involved you buying me a drink, I’d say my first impression was that you were the nicest stranger I’ve ever met.”
Tay went next and her spin landed on Nathan, making her blush.
“I thought you were really sweet,” she said, not making eye contact with him. “And surprisingly strong for such a skinny guy.” He laughed and flexed his arms, posing stupidly and showing off.
Siva’s spin landed on Tom.
“You were a right laugh mate,” he grinned. “And a hell of a singer.”
Max’s spin also landed on Nathan.
“Not going to lie, my automatic thought was that you were a bit of a kid,” he admitted. “Wasn’t expecting much from you, but then you sang and I was shamefully impressed.” Oh god, all these compliments are going to go to his head.
Nathan’s spin landed on me.
“I thought you were a bit of a dork,” he smirked. “Really awkward, clumsy too. Thought you were a lot younger than you were too.” Charming Sykes, really.
It went on like that, Jay got Siva and said he thought he was a really nice guy, plus he had a cool accent, and Tom got Taylah and said she was a pain in the ass.
“Okay, next question is…” Tay stopped to think. “Favourite thing about the person.”
“Despite being a pain in the ass,” I told Max. “You’re actually the best big brother I could have. You’ve always been there for me, no matter what.” Cute I know.
“You’re my best friend,” Tay said, nudging me. “I love how alike we are and that we literally have no shame anymore around each other.” The boys all rolled their eyes. Sigh, typical males.
“I love how you’re always great to be around,” Siva said to Jay. “You’re just a great guy, even when we’re doing nothing.”
“You’re always good for a laugh,” Max grinned at Tom. “Even if it’s at your own expense.”
Nathan landed on me, again.
“You’re my bestie forever and ever,” he said, mocking Taylah. “No, but you are and you’re really smart which helps me get out of stupid situations.” An actual compliment? Wow.
“You’re so funny, and really sweet,” Jay said when he got Tay. “You’re always willing to help and you can always make me laugh.”
“Seev, you’re just a legend,” Tom shrugged. “You’re such a nice guy. And you look like a model.” Cue fake swoon.
“We get to come up with next question,” Jay demanded. We shrugged and him and Nath started whispering to each other.
“Favourite physical feature,” Nathan said with a smirk. No doubt that was so we’d have no choice but to compliment them, cocky bastards. “And explain why!” Not exactly in the rules, but I’ll allow it.
“Cheekbones,” I said immediately when the bottle landed on Siva, making everyone laugh. “They’re just so perfect, I mean look at them!”
Tay’s spin landed on Nathan yet again, and this time she blushed and even brighter red.
“Umm, your eyes,” she said awkwardly, giving him a small smile. “They’re really green and they’re nice, yeah.”
“Okay, this is weird,” Max screwed up his nose as the bottle landed on Jay. “But yeah I guess your hair man, cause you know, it’s really curly.”
“You have really pretty eyes,” Nathan told Taylah. I have absolutely no doubt that she stopped breathing for at least a few seconds. “They’re so bright and your eyelashes are really long.” I couldn’t help but awww quietly.
“I really like your smile,” Jay said, his bottle having landed on me. “It’s just really… I don’t know, happy. Like kind of what you imagine when they say it can light up a room.” Oh god, that was sweet.
“I just love your eyes Maxxie,” Tom joked, leaning across to Max and batting his lashes dramatically. Tay picked up a pillow and whacked him with it.
“Okay, last question here guys,” I spoke up. “The person’s… worst habit!”
“Taylah’s worst habit is she hogs the blanket like every night,” I said, giving her a pointed look.
“Tom’s worst habit is he cannot wash dishes to save his life,” he looked offended, Tay just shrugged.
“Jay’s worst habit is taking the last of something without letting anyone know we need more,” Siva said after some thought.
“Maeve’s habit is never wearing pants around the house,” Max said and the boys all cracked up laughing, possibly recalling what they’d witnessed earlier.
“I disagree Taylah,” Nathan said when he got Tom. “I think Tom’s worst habit is being an incessant flirt even though he has a lovely girlfriend.” He wiggled his eyebrows, showing he wasn’t completely serious.
“Well Nathan’s worst habit is being obsessed with hats,” Tom said, plucking the one that was on the boy’s head. “Seriously man, enough is enough.” Nathan took it back and placed it back on his head, patting it like it was a wounded puppy.
“Taylah’s habit is taking selfies. All. The. Time.” We all nodded agreement to Tom, we had enough proof on all of our phones.
The game ended and we settled down to watch a movie. Tay and I got up to watch popcorn, not the best idea seeing as together we always managed to destroy anything we cooked, but the boys were lazy, so they’d have to deal.
“That, was freaking adorable,” I nudged her teasingly. “You looooove his eyes, hey?”
“You’re lucky that’s all that came spewing out,” she said quietly. “I could have kept word vomiting all the things I like. His eyes, his smile, that cute button nose…”
“Too… much… cute!” I said, clutching my stomach and pretending to throw up in the sink.
“Oh alright little miss smile-lights-up-a-room,” damn it. One point to her.
I poured the popcorn into a bowl and we went back into the lounge room to find the boys all spread out on the mattresses, leaving almost literally no space. I spotted an empty spot and dove for it before Tay could, before realising I was right up next to Jay. Oh well, he’s comfortable to sleep on anyway. Not that I do it often or – oh never mind.
At least Tay and Nath were up close and personal. Actually, starting to think this may have been planned. Then again, Max and Tom were in the room, and Siva wasn’t exactly the ‘evil mastermind wingman’ type.
It didn’t matter in the end, because turns out I was actually really tired and ended up curling up against Jay, my head on his chest. I was right, he’s a god damn good pillow. I tried to keep my eyes open to watch the movie, rubbing at them every now and then.
“If you’re tired, then sleep,” Jay chuckled softly in my ear.
“I’m not tired,” I yawned, kind of giving me away. He laughed again. “Okay, maybe just a little bit.”
